1. The 2x10 appears to be £479 in sound control and that compares favourably with other high quality 2x10's, no dis to the yammy. Looks like quite a tall narrow cab so its probably gonna sound better than a side by side, but then you cant turn it on its side.
2.
Even though I cant go it would be cool to get the Basschat T shirts sorted and available. Just a suggestion.
No interest in this then?
3. Have a look in the recommended luthiers sticky.

5. I am sure with a little use of the search engine you can find no end of threads discussing (sometimes heatedly) the 4 vs 5 and upwards debate.
6. Interesting points Peter. I've never though endorsement deals were worth anything, and stars getting gear for free that we all have to pay for winds me up, but now I am not so sure. Personally I would never buy X because someone famous uses it, but it seems plenty do. Maybe Bernie should have given Mark King the free Rumour basses he wanted.
7. As it happens I was collecting a bass and Bernie showed me your old bass and how great it looks with a new scratch plate. He has a buyer lined up for it. Maybe its my bad, but I still dont understand why you cant use Status Hotwire double ball 30-115 sets if that is what you want.
8. Try them. The Bass Centre used to stock both and when I tried them I preferred the Lakland but your tastes may be different from mine. Think the Bass Centre only stock the Sandberg now and I think the Gallery only stock Lakland. They both have Fender though.
9. No. But you will need to screw through the side and into something as the sides themselves wont be strong enough. Makes sense to fix to some wood behind the sides that is already there.
10. Told Bernie about this Obviously the King Bass is not up to scratch and you should keep the EBS and order a 5 string GB sharpish. I dont understand the string problem with this bass. Status do bouble ball sets from 30-115 through to 50-135. Its a Status bass and if you bought it new i guess it would have Status strings on it. And they are good strings. I also dont understand why you absolutely had to get rid of a perfectly good GB for half what you paid for it. Did it not go low enough? Did you have to play basslines you could not possibly play on a 4 string?
11. OMG! If my back was not old and f***ed I would have this rig to die for!
12. I had my GB P bass routed out so I could fit something like this. One day I will get to hear OBBM's and understand what the fuss is about.
13. Welcome fellow southerner!

*edit*

Why? If it was up there with Leo's other great inventions we would all be playing them. Had a go on a real one. Thats all. Nuff said.
15. Get a GB!
16.
Have not been to grab a granny at the chats for years !
Trust me you would not let your granny anywhere near Chats when we played there - or anyone else you were remotely concerned about.
17. When you boost the tone controls you have to turn down the volume to compensate. I dont think any actives have volume compensation .
18. This bass is turning into a right old slapper!
19. Pre/Power was once the only way to get serious watts but now 500+ watts is quite common, so unless you are dead set on humping around a great big rack case (which may not be that heavy mind) you can get serious power in 2-3 unit heads. There are a couple of thunderfunks for sale at the moment - plus a massive (in power) Techamp Black Cat.
20. Trace V6. Is that all valve? Then it does matter as you can f*** the output transformer by using the wrong impedence.
21. Ditch the Sansamp - the EBS Microbass II is all you need. I knows it is not cheap but then the best gear never is.
22. One day................

24.
For crying out loud - that's an ACM gig bag!! Is there no one on his course that could have a word
Yes I spotted that. They were all too busy laughing at him/her/it.
25.
EBS MultiBass II preamp DI box. Two seperate channels that can be run separately or together. Each channel has it's own gain setting. http://www.ebs.bass.se/2007/microbass.htm
+1. Has been described as the swiss army knife of bass.
