1. Musicman is such a classic bass. Enjoy!
2. Superb book. At college I used it every day.
3. I just tried it in a passive bass and it works perfectly plugging in and out, but still pops when plugging in an active bass.
4.
Love the inlay and the whole recessed area on the headstock where the name is carved, some nice touches.
Yes it's all about the details like the recessed strap locks. I also loved the wooden battery cover held in with magnets which works really well.
5. Welcome to basschat and the UK Johan! Great video your playing sounds great, superb phrasing! Cheers Geoff
6. Hi Stephen, I had a chance to view your bass yesterday whilst I was paying Chris and Alex a visit to set up my bass. The workmanship looks superb and Im sure you will love the quality of finish. I played a couple of the Alpher 4 strings and they are fantastic basses. I loved the sound, setup, finish and careful thought put into the design. They sit really well and are perfectly balanced. Im sure you will love your new bass.

8.
yes, why no Mark D Phillips?
:-)
9. I just bought one and much prefer the planet waves curcuit breaker. Mine works unplugging but not plugging in so i dont really see the point as you would have to mute the source anyway to plug back in. Except of course at the end of the gig, but the then the amps going off anyway. I love using the curcuit breaker mid rehearsal/gig so I can unplug without stressing out the sound guy ,save the battery, wait for amp to power down the amp, move about etc..
10. Great service and great cables! Thanks Dave
11.
CAPTION?
One small step for man, one wholestep for mankind. ....best I can do on a wednesday night :-)
12. Thanks so much for sharing this! Its a long term favourite of mine and its so cool hearing it soloed. I also love that beautiful backing singing, so uplifting!
13. Someone should tell him about bow quivers :-) @0.35ish
14.
I have read on TalkBass that Realists have a definite life, whereby the pressure of the bridge foot on the piezo element eventually leads to lower output and sound issues. Maybe yours has unfortunately run into this at a much earlier stage than is usual (most people seem to think that Realuists have at at least a few years before the sound deteriorates in the threads I have read). If so, a new pickup has to be the sensible option if you have a long string of dates coming up, at least as a backup. Maybe look for a wing piezo (eg Underwood, Shadow, BassMax) so you have the choice?
+1 I think you have been unlucky. Unless David Gage offers to replace it then I would look into another pickup. Was it new when you bought it?
15.
Steve Amadeo is up there somewhere, great guy, he is on this forum look him up!
+1
16. My vote is the sadowsky. I play a five string M24 5 string and its all I need for my bass guitar gigs. That said choose the one that you feel most comfortable with. I love just using one bass as it keeps it simple, You learn to get the most from it and focus on the music. Of course it has to be the right one for you. Good luck.
17. Great job Marco! Cool idea, really well done.
18. Great little bass! Good impulse buy.
19. Superb book. My favourite for bass guitar.
20. Good work. Problems like these are not easy to judge but it seems you did the right thing.
21. +1 for a back to top button. . . It would also help to show a users home town in their profile in the mobile theme.
22.
Kudos to the String Zone they are honouring their advertised price.
I have always had great service from the string zone and due 2 my double bass OCD I've been a regular customer. I really hope bass strings are not going up as its already a stupidly expensive instrument to play.
23. Great job on the transcription, that's a really crazy riff!
