2. Great deal! I love Evah weichs! Superb hybrid string.
3. Great result! Nice one Bilbo.
4. Great solo mike, killer technique and really musical phrases. Nice one!
5. Ben is a really acomplished and tallented musician with a real passion for bass guitar. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable player with a great feel and a lot of giging experience.
6. Sounds like they have made a great string. I'm looking forward to hearing/playing them. It would also be great to hear Danny playing these new strings.
7. Its a shame theres been a delay in getting your gear but you have made a great choice. I recently played a new american P bass and it was superb, really well made bass. Let us know how it goes when you finally get them!
8. Hi Daf, I'm with you on this one and would have felt very let down if this had happened to me. To charge 1k more than the estimate without consulting you is plain wrong. To then end up with a bass that still has rattles; which need the front off to fix them, is just not a reasonable outcome when the job was to remove the front and fix all the rattles (glue cracks/open seams/loose joints etc). I just cant imagine anyone thinking that this outcome represents an excellent job. Good luck getting it sorted out. Geoff
9. Wow. I love this!!
10.
Same here, but not getting the message when viewing on my mobile. I've cleaned out my cookies but still get the same message.
+1
11. Hi Guys, I've just created a facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/BassLessonsInLeeds If you are on Facebook and want to know more about my lessons please like the page. I'm planning on keeping students up to date with my lesson information and sharing bass related information. thanks Geoff
12. I have wanted one of these for ages! I just love the shape. Congratulations!
13. Very odd... I wouldn't give them your bank details.
14. Outragously tight band! The horns and drums are so on it! Iove the organ and guitarist too. Bassist has a great vibe and theres lots of cool things happening in his playing. The overall time feel is so funky. Listen to how laid back the clapping that the guitarist does is. I don't know the band but the club is the Iridum in NYC is a really small, cool jazz club. I bet it was an intense night! I would imagine the mark bass is the clubs house amp, but that's speculation. In do undrrstand the comments about not leaving any space in the bassists solo but in the context of this tune I think he pulls it off. It's so hard to play that way and to keep building but he's such an engaging player I was with him. Thanks for sharing.
15. Onehappybunny you have an amazing house! Congratulations, you and your family came across really well.
16.
All of the work that I've got is from meeting people and then being referred to others. It's really the tried and tested way of doing it,and still the best way.
+1 I can't think of any work I have got that wasn't from networking. It's all about getting out to gigs and jam sessions and spreading the word.
17. I thought the same. Genz Benz head and Barefaced cab+ unusual looking bass = time spent on basschat :-)
18. I can recommend Alec. Great player.
19. Superb job Bill! This style is so hard to play cleanly and you make it seem effortless. Those 16th notes are bang on and there's some great phrases in there.
20. Great job! There's a few really cool phrases in there.
21. I wouldn't worry if the bass is in your house. As long as its away from radiators, fires, very cold windows etc I wouldn't expect any problems. Just try to avoid any extreme changes.
22.
Russ (username Rayman) is selling an old (1950s?) ply bass which looks a great starter for just £350 http://basschat.co.uk/topic/186613-old-european-double-bass/
+1 looks like a great deal.
23.
Any body got any ideas on these http://www.gear4music.com/Woodwind-Brass-Strings/3-4-Jazz-Size-Double-Bass-and-Case/1O1
+1 I was shocked at how bad the set ups were.
24. I'm sure a trail version sent round bass chatters would sell a few if it's as good as it seems. I would love to try one.
