1. I love what Bass Direct are doing. Phil is a great guy and I wouldnt hesitate to recomend them.
2. Great news Bluejay. Enjoy those low B's! :-)

4.
Played your video and when you started bowing my dog got up and left the room. He does that when I bow too, so finally I know it's not just my intonation that causes it! Sounds good man.
My mum once rang and asked what I was doing. I said guess? and bowed my E string. She replied hoovering? Sometimes I wonder why I bother practising at all :-)
5. I just measured the metal part of the string which is 110cm. I belive this is the 4/4 set. I've been using them on string length of 105.5 with no problems
6. I don't know. I'm not sure if I have the original boxes. Will have a look to see if I can find the original receipt and let you know.
7.
Hi Geoff I'll take the Daddario Helicore Hybrid Lights - drop me a pm to sort the trade! Cheers Mick
Hybrids are sold
8. I've would also consider a trade for a set of spiro weichs in good condition.
9. How does it compare to your old m pulse 600? Is there enough volume with the little walkabout? .....BTW killer rig WOT! :-)
10.
That is just poor, poor, poor... !!!!!!!!! The whole point of a pick-up band is that you shouldn't know it is a pick-up band even if you are meeting guys first off on the gig. If they are regulars then that is even more scandulous
I agree that professional deps should be as good as the regular guys. Rubbish music by regular player of deps isn't good enough.
11. +1 love it.
12. It's from an old bass I sold and has been in a draw for ages. I've got one on my bass and its great. IMO its the best pickup out there.
13. Bear in mind the £1800 fee doesn't mean that the musos are being well paid. What you discribe sounds like a band of deps almost certainly on less than 150 whilst the leader &/or agent take the bulk. ...of course they could be a rubbish band, but at that price point the majority are ran by one person.
14. Ive always wanted to try the VL208 as the upright guys on talkbass rave about it. I just cant be bothered to go heavier than I am at the moment.
15. Ive just done a quick video so you can get a better idea of its sound. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QGpnswv9CdQ The strings are the new set of Daddario Zyex. My amp is set flat with no eq. Please excuse the random playing, it just to give you a rough idea of its tone. The bow is my German one and not included in the sale. Any questions please ask. Thanks Geoff
16. Great rig. I've always wanted to try the Hartke 12". I use 2x Euphonic audio 1x12s and love a modular setup.
17. Hey Laurence, Im selling the A D and G string. Combine it with a Spiro E weich then you would have a great low tension set. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/174004-string-sale-evah-weich-corelli-spiro-helicore-hybrid-lights/ cheers Geoff
18. Hi Guys, I'm having a clear out of my string draw and have the following sets available. All prices include Postage. Evah Weich. SOLD About a years use but still in good shape. My favourite bass string! £55 Thomastic Spirocore Mittel. SOLD A few months use, still new sounding. Classic jazz string. There is a VERY small nick on the G string near half position which doesnt effect playablity at all. However if it causes any problems at all when you install them I will of course refund your cash and pay for the return postage. These are really new strings which have been on and off my bass about 3 times for short periods, but I prefer other strings for my classical work. £55 Daddario Helicore Hybrid Lights. NOW SOLD As used by Christian Mcbride and Larry Grenadier for a long time (who I think is now back on spiros). These have been on my bass for about 6 months and still have plenty of life. I really love these strings and im using them on all my youtube videos except Minor Turnaround which have Evah Weichs on. Also bow really well. £50 Corelli Tungsten M370 A D and G string (no E) These are very new and were only on my bass for about 3 weeks. VERY good arco response and good pizz. A superb hybrid string and amazingly loud. They are very low tension and light gague. I really liked them and for jazz or solo classical playing they were great. £50 POSTAGE INCLUDED. Payment by paypal, chque, or transfer thanks Geoff
19.
I'll have this Geoff
Sold.
20.
just walk that dog!
:-) great advice!
21.
Swap / trade for a realist?
Cash only I'm afraid
22. I wouldn't worry about 5er or 4. You can always transpose. I doubt anyone would care/notice for the odd note.
23. I've depped on a production at the West Yorkshire Playhouse who were using their own parts. It's a great piece and Anthony Jackson sounds outragous on the original recording. I would spend the time listening to the original cast recording and doing some general sight reading practice. Of course if someone has a copy of the same edition the fine, but if it's not the same then it will only have limited value. Good luck and enjoy it!
