1.
The link that Geoff posted looks remarkably like my case. Loads of handles, reinforced stitching and pockets too. Can't be bad for £140. A couple of the zip pulls have fallen off mine in the last couple of months but the zips still work fine.
+1. My zip pull on the rear pocket has died. Also one of the zips for the small pocket. The main one is still good and I'm pretty happy with it.
2. If you are happy with your sound keep it. You wont get great prices selling and will proably end up buying again at more cost. Enjoy it and think of all the hassle that you would go through buying and selling.
3. Im pretty sure my bass would just fall apart so I try to stick to pavements :-)
4. [quote/]Wheels are very useful for when you are going across smooth surfaces.
Yeh they are great indoors. I use an endpin wheel outside.
5. Martyn Bailey sell good quality bags for £140. I bought one after my tom and will died and it's pretty good. http://www.mjbl.co.uk/double-bass-accessories/42.html I'm not 100% sure but I think it's the same as this from the contrabass shoppe for almost twice the price. http://www.contrabass.co.uk/new_image_22mm_cover.htm
6. Great deal for a killer amp!
7. Great news fumps. Enjoy!
8. Love it. Makes a nice change. :-)
9. Yeh Jeremys a legend! I think you made a really good choice.
10. Congratulations Floyd. Great choice!
11. #thunderbird13 I wouldn't worry about the physical side. You play with straighter wrists than on BG and by using the weight of both arms you can pull a big sound with very little effort. I'm not a big guy and I have no problems. You also don't have any weight like you do with a bass guitar strap which is good for your back. A well set up instrument and a few lessons from a good teacher should help you get started.
12.
Would you fancy a trade for a Yamaha or NS NXT
That's tempting as I love your yammy, but I really need the cash I'm afraid. If you are near Kirkstal feel free to come and try it. You are welcome to take it on a gig.

14. Hi guys. Thanks for the good words about the Clifton. It sounds really good. You can tell its a realist as it has that kind of sound and sounds more DB than fretless BG. It would be really easy to fit another pickup though if you wanted different results. I use a Acoustic Image head and it works well. I bought it to use as a practice instrument for hotels. It's a very good simulation of a DB. The work I had done has really helped as its set up is superb for both arco or pizz. The new Zyex strings are great, pretty similar to Evah weichs. I've only played them for a few hours so there loads of life in them and I've included the spirocores which they replaced. It's a 41.5 scale with a D neck which are standard 3/4 size DB measurements. However you can easily adjust the string length by moving the bridge if you want to match your own bass. I have not used it much on gigs, but it will be great for live work at high volumes. I will try to do a video next week to give people an idea of the tone. If anyone wants to take it on a gig I'm happy to let them.
15. Outragous bargain. I'm SO tempted, but am also broke. Someone's going to get a great deal!
16.
You tease Geoff I'd love to see it (not that I need another EUB)
Go on Keith. You know you want to! :-)
17. Hi guys, I bought this second hand last December for use in a show. It did a great job and I am now selling it to free up some cash. It has the serial no 0210 which i believe means it was made in 2002. Since buying the bass I have installed new Daddario Zyex light gage strings which sound fantastic. I also am including a set of spirocore weichs which were on the bass when I bought it. It comes with a David Gage realist pickup installed. It also has the Mo Clifton soft bag. I have also had the fingerboard plained/reshaped, both the bridge and nut re shaped and strings properly spaced and a full set up. The bass is now playing amazingly well as the work was done by luthier Martyn Bailey. The condition of the bass is very good with no cracks or splits. There is a small amount of surface scratches and wear as you would expect from a 10 year old instrument. It comes with a Mo Clifton soft case and a cheap French bow. The price is £1150......PRICE DROP! NOW £950. I believe they now sell new for over 2k. I have also spent over £200 on new strings and set up since buying it so its a great deal for a serious EUB. Any trial welcome in Leeds. Any questions please ask. http://www.cliftonbasses.co.uk/ Video demo
18. Basses are so individual arent they. I played 2 Laklands of the same model in a shop and one was miles better. Sometimes it just all comes together in the right way for you. It's great you have found it. I wouldn't spend time thinking and just buy it.
19. Good luck for tomorrow artisan. Hope you have a great gig!
20.
I'd be up for doing something I don't know if 7th April is a good date, I was hoping to tie it in with meeting Bassace but he's travelling up with his band just before his gig at Boston Spa so won't have any spare time.
+1
21. I've been tempted to try and put a j retro in. Might change the strings, but they are actually not bad.
