1. Great amp for doubling. I like it with electric & love it with electric. If I only played electric it wouldn't be my first choice though.
2. Beautiful bass. I love the finish!
3.
If you can get to South Manchester I would definately try Pete (username MajorMinor on the forum). I've been having lessons with him for 12 months and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him.
+1
4. What an amazing rig! 100% tone monster. Great price too. Good luck with your sale :-)
5. Life's too short. Just get stuck in! I would recommend taking a few lessons at the start though. Enjoy :-)
6. I really don't know much about these early models and just thought it looks cheap. That said there's another very similar bass on eBay which looks equally poor. Perhaps it's just an early model, but it looks cheap.
7.
To my eyes it looks like one of those dreadful 70's plywood finishes. Sorry, don't want to upset anyone, and love the whole ethos of Wal basses, but that is what I'm seeing.
+1 it would be intresting to see what electric wood think.
8. Sorry I misread the OP. I didn't realise u were changing the tailpiece wire. I guess give it a go and if it falls then take it to a luthier to put back.
9. Great cabs. I've used a couple of the Vanderkly 12" cabs on a recent bass guitar gig. Very impressive! Massive sound!
10. I put the bass on it's back, usually on my bed. Then change one string at a time. Unless the soundposts really loose it should be fine. Good luck! I know what a pain it can be when you hear that sound! Clank!
11. 2 ohm heads. It's a tough one. I use 2x Euphonic Audio 12" 4ohm cabs so have the same problem. Aguilar db750 is a tone monster, but of course very heavy. Carvin do great value heads (some lightweight) which I've heard very good things about. Hartke lh1000? Great value and Nate Watts uses one! Some Eden heads? Acoustic image Clarus. I use one but it's not amazing for electric due to limited eq, but amazing for upright. Some genz Benz heads? The more powerful like 750 (not sure of models) Euphonic Audio iamp 800&500
12. Hey Scoop. I had a quick play on this at bass day and it's great! You are a lucky man! Enjoy. ....what's no. 9 gonna look like? :-)
13.
Beautiful but too expensive for me
+1 .... But it is very nice!
14. I'm really up for coming to this but need to see nearer the time. If there's no work I will be there. I can't wait to try the EAD at a decent volume! Geoff
15. Bargain!!!
16. I'm new to Twitter. You can follow me at www.twitter.com/geoffbassist My website for bass lessons in Leeds http://www.geoffchalmers.com/basslessonsinleeds
17. Hey Roger, I was just reading about the new Headway band. It looks a bit odd, but that's fine if it sounds good. I would love to try one but I'm saving up for April ;-)
18. Hi Roger. It's my German bass Martyn Bailey restored. It's good but I'm looking forward to getting a new bass in the new year. It's got a new set of Helicore hybrids on. How's your Bryant settling in?
19. Thanks Tom. I like the sound of unorthodox technique. It would be boring if we were all the same :-) Cheers Geoff
20. A video of me playing an original blues tune is on the FBPO players spotlight series. Here's the link if you fancy a look http://www.forbassplayersonly.com/ Cheers Geoff By the way. After posting I realised I leave no space in my solo at all. Not a good thing, but it's only a quick video, not a serious recording. :-)
21. Pat did an amazing job. Really professional playing!
22. Just got back, great day. Marcus was fantastic and Pat Ilingworth a great job on kit. Really Enjoyed Scotts talk and playing. The EAD cabs were amazing and I enjoyed meeting Dave. I think his cabs are incredible. Alan on ACG is also a gent and I loved playing his bass. Thanks to Stevie for another great year!
23. It's a killer isnt it?! Theres always a nice fretless, double, jazz, p bass, 5 string, 4 string etc! I'm down to one electric and one upright, but I've owned loads over the years! You have to spend your money on something I guess :-) ....oh and amp!.....and cabs!
24. Just got my ticket. Looking forward to catching up with everyone. Its always a great day and Stevie does an amazing job putting it all together. cheers Geoff
25. Enjoy :-)
