  1. I've just won this Hofner Violin CT bass (https://dailyguitardraw.com/product/hofner-violin-bass-ct-in-sunburst-698/). Was tempted to keep is because it is fun, but I've been told I can't. Apparently I have too many. Anyway, it's in near perfect condition with no dents or rashes to be seen. Slightly dusty, so I'd imagine it's been hung up in a store somewhere. I'm putting it on at £530, but am open to offers. I've no idea as to postage price, so I'm going to say £25 in the UK. Welcome to pick it up instead. I'm right by the M5 bridge, and can meet up if really interested. The specs as per the website are: Body Wood: Maple w/ Spruce Top Finish: Gloss Neck Wood: Maple/Beech Fretboard: Jatoba Scale Length: 30” (760 mm) Frets: 22 Truss Rod: Adjustable Nut Width: 1.653” (42 mm) Neck Thickness: 0.87” (22 mm) 1st Fret, 0.94” (24 mm) 12th Fret Inlays: White Dot Headstock: Black Nut: Plastic w/ Zero Fret Finish: Gloss Bridge: Ebony Fretted Tuners: Hofner Vintage Style Bridge Pickup: Hofner Staple Neck Pickup: Hofner Staple Colour: Nickel Electronics: 2x Vol, Rhythm/Solo Switch, 2x Pickup On/Off Switch It was posted in a basic Fender guitar bag (in a box with plenty of bubble wrap), which is included.
  2. Nice bass. Are those Velve BII tuners? They're hard to come by and use a fairly big hole. I'd start by measuring the hole and then look around. If they're just under 18mm, you might have luck with Goto h FB30s - I think they're a bit fatter than the more usual ibby GB7(07)s. Might be talking a lot of bollocks though.
  3. Yes. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.scottsbasslessons.groovetrainer
  4. SBL's app has some nice loops.
  5. Would make an awesome set with my Anita Dobson MVMT.
  6. Maybe a valid experiment would be to pick someone who's believes in paying more for specific tone woods, bolt their bass down onto a concrete slab, connect up some robotic plucker (I said plucker), then start to drill and saw their bass whilst measuring the output from the pickups? If tonewood adds anything, removing it should subtract. They can keep the plucker at the end too, if it's suitably dirty. Just a thought.
  7. Tnt 115 black widow was probably the classic school band amp back in the 80s/early 90s. No reason to think it's changed. Great amp.
  8. BAM200 looks to be £120ish. Haven't seen a new mini cab to pair it with. https://www.tcelectronic.com/Categories/Tcelectronic/Bass/Head-Amplifiers/BAM200/p/P0DI5#googtrans(en|en)
  9. TC BAM200 was announced the other day. Looks to be £120, which could be a bit of a bargain if it can compare to the ELF. https://www.tcelectronic.com/Categories/Tcelectronic/Bass/Head-Amplifiers/BAM200/p/P0DI5#googtrans(en|en)
  10. Has there been any more info about the BAM200 (the 200W D Class)?
  11. Use the distil.io add on on Firefox. It'll notify you when the page changes. Use the selection tools to only look at the div that contains the current listings.
  12. There's £180 cheap and there's £30 cheap.
  13. There's a seller on eBay named "barmcgabarr" who's clearly buying a lot of deko guitars and then selling them on at full non-deko price. He's got a JB-75 deko selling for £140, yet they're normally £125 (and deko is around £35). He's got a JA-60SB for £120, but retail non-deko is £114.70! He doesn't mention Harley Benton and determinedly avoids showing the headstock front on. The "D"s stamped in the back are clear to see on the photos, but he doesn't mention them. Don't know whether to hate or admire the guy. At the very least it's dishonest, so I hope he's fixing the problems and doding a set up. It'd explain also why dekos go so quickly - it's easy to get a browser alert and then just say yes to everything. They'll be others doing it, and they're all turds
  14. Thanks for the replies. - I'm not getting any power when it's on, so I don't think I can check the voltages. - Yes, I've tried different power cables, changed the plug fuses and changed the power socket fuse. I'm seeing power on the internal side of the socket.
