thanks for all the replies. I will have a look at the sampling rates but i think maybe something is on the way out as sometimes it is affecting all audio playback (youtube, media player etc.) and then i just reboot and the audio is fine. i hate computers!!!

looking at their other listings, at least they are consistent. especially love the hard case listing: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bass-Guitar-Fitted-Hard-Case/264255111980?_trkparms=aid%3D444000%26algo%3DSOI.DEFAULT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20170221122447%26meid%3Dc7a01d24e4ec48339c352b34b57cee58%26pid%3D100752%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D3%26sd%3D264255079342%26itm%3D264255111980&_trksid=p2047675.c100752.m1982

Hi everyone, please help me as I am really losing it with trying to record - every track I record when I replay it it sounds slow and distorted. I have tried various software(Audicity, Record Pad) but same results. Ive looked at all the settings I can to see if its something obvious but no joy. I am recording directly from my bass plugged straight in to my soundcard which is a Terratec DMX 6Fire 24/96. The really annoying thing is that ive done this before without issue - I even managed one track tonight without issue but now its gone to stinky poo and I dont know why. This is on Windows 10 btw thanks Chris

Those Copiers Were Fast In The Old Days.

yeah but this one is fine because it has the added benefit of the straplock pin being screwed in to it because, well, ummm.... I mean that upper horn doesnt look very substantial does it... oh wait, what...no, hang on, im sure there is a good reason... -

Why would anyone put their name to such a hunk of junk? Sorry but those tuners and that thing that's where you would normally find the bridge just look like tat. Not to mention that the pickups are wonky -
i would say you really are just showing off now!!!

Love that Steamer Stage 1 6 string - can't believe it's a broadneck too! I have a 90 Streamer Stage I 5 string with broadneck and Barts and it's a beast! The neck is so comfy and the spacing is perfect but can't get my head round 6 strings at that spacing!! I'm guessing yours is mid-90s? Barts or EMG?

86 Streamer Stage I, cherry body and Wenge neck, ebony fretboard. Schaller bridge and tuners.

What a beauty! These basses are just incredible, the pups have super high output and the necks are very comfy

depending on how precious the bass is to you, could you not drill 3 small holes in the back of the neck to take the guess work out of how much wood you have to play with. If you drilled the hole(using the smallest drill bit you can find) at even intervals above where the truss rod would sit then you can check how deep the cavity is along the entire length of the neck and then go from there. You could easily fill these holes at the end of the project and colour match to suit.

Help with electronics for 1989 Warwick thumb
dyerseve replied to mewis's topic in Repairs and Technical
IIRC that shielded cable will be the output from the volume pot to the jack. The inner part of the cable(carrying the signal) goes to the inner tag of the jack and the outer part(providing the shielding) can be grounded anywhere - looks like it was possibly earthed on to the case of the concentric treb/bass pot- 10 replies

Shirley you can't be serious? None of those headstocks are matching - they are all different colours shapes and sizes!!! 😉
-
I dont see any issue there, im more concerned with the placement of the straplock on the upper horn - just WTF????
-
I hate you and I am not at all jealous! 🤤

you can have pickups that require volts through them to work but you can also have passive pickups used within an active circuit. we would really need to know which pups you have or see the back of the pickups and a shot inside the control cavity. also, why do you want to go from active to passive?

is it missing a bridge by an chance?
-
well, to be fair, it probably could cover a pickup. honestly, some BCers are so fussy and so keen to split hairs! 🤣

Also agree. The black wire needs to connect to the largest lug(in the centre between the white and purple) on the output jack. The schematics for all Warwick basses are available on their website.
