1. Close to owning my first ever Fender but missed out with 2 seconds to go dammit!
2. I cant believe Jaydee havent had a letter from Alembic's lawyers!
3. Hope you know a good chiropractor!!!! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Warwick-Twin-Neck-Thumb-Bass-/263120657711?hash=item3d43369d2f:g:2rkAAOSw6KVZgfz5
4. this is why I use steel wool when cleaning frets, no need to mask the fretboard off as it cleans the fretboard as well - you do need to mask the pups off though.
5. Fine steel wool will also do a good job. 00 or finer grade.
6. Well the guy that built it is named Junk Montague so that probably explains a lot, including his understanding of intonation, or lack there of...
7. Would be interested to see some photos. The pups on my Aria Super Bass looked sealed but it was just a metal plate glued in place which was removed with a little care. Underneath were two jazz coils and i was able to extract them to effect a repair.
8. Images now working! Lovely looking bass! GLWTS
9. Imagebb doesn't seem to be your friend either as I can't see any photos, just error messages. Try postimage.io
10.
I was just about to post this. Yeah, doesnt really play the lower strings. I wonder why....
no need to wonder, from the vid description: "Playing a 15 Strings Bass Solo... that's way too big.. The first 5 strings are just too low... You just cant play any clear note... lol"
11. looks even worse in that vid - is it just me or a the bottom 3 string touching each other?
12. Is that actually a Customshop? Dont they normally have a different serial number and they have it denoted on the truss rod cover as well? Sorry to sound cynical but the registration card is for a totally different bass...
13. thanks. do you know the correct type of pot for use in this application? Is it the same as a volume pot but the centre detent would indicate 50% volume? does that make sense? edit. I should probably just wait till i get home, get my multimeter out and measure the pots behaviour across its range of travel rather than ask stupid quesitons on the internet lol
14. I am looking to replace the pots that are used to cut/boost the treble and bass on my Warwick Streamer as the ones I have are knackered. They are 100k and have the centre detent to indicate the neutral position. I cannot seem to find them on any of the UK spare parts sites but maybe I am just being dense? Any help appreciated.
15. I have the same bass with the Bartolinis but a broad neck and a different pre amp. You would have to pry it from cold dead hands!!!!
16. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/49897-how-to-shim-a-neck/page__pid__496281#entry496281 See this thread for "how to" And confirms why you would do it
17. Sounds like you need a shim or spacer under the neck i.e.. between it and the body. Well done for giving your time to help sort these basses for the kids.
