  1. dont forget to rub half the paint off and charge extra for it too!
  2. the build quality makes it quite obvious this person knows what they are doing. Do you not place any value on this persons time and the materials used? I would happily pay that much for such an instrument.
  3. Would help to know where you are based. I had a bass refinished by a guy in the West Midlands for about £200 and was very happy with it.

  5. Wow! That is actually bird's-eye Maple on the top. These are a very limited run - distinguished by the exotic top and the soapbar pickups. If you email Hans-Peter Wilfer with some pics and the serial number he will give you the full details of the bass. Gorgeous bass! GLWTS
  6. I think you would do well to get pics back in the original post and maybe tidy the whole thread up... Took me a while to see the bass was still for sale...
  7. John (@John Hunt) recently purchased a Warwick Corvette from me. I am based in Germany and John is in the US - this international transaction went without a hitch and most importantly, John is happy with the bass. John was a very pleasant guy to deal with and I am happy to recommend him as a buyer without hesitation.
  8. I have no experience of either brand so I cannot comment.
  9. You seem to be making an assumption that anything "from China" must lacking quality... This is a very antiquated view and you are not doing yourself any favours with it...Same goes for your views regarding child labour and slaves. Chinese labour is cheaper, it doesnt mean they are using children or slaves. Any reputable Chinese manufacturer will have stringent anti child labour regs in place.

  12. They are the original pups, this is my old bass. They have "made in germany" stamped on the back so will either be MEC or Schaller
  13. Here is why I use Wise.com instead of XE.com:
  14. For me it's the best of both worlds, best rates and lowest fees. Yeah I can understand re. Scams- but it's really only if they are sending you money that they need to "use" Wise.com and create an account etc. With a little Googleing though it should be easy for anyone to see it is a legit site. Otherwise you just use your Wise.com account and send them the money directly to their bank account - exactly like any international bank transfer.
  15. To ensure you receive the best rates for all international transfers, use a service such as Wise.com (formerly TransferWise). They give you the actual market rates for the currencies in question and their fees are incredibly reasonable. I have used them countless times without any issue.
  16. I don't understand this sentiment. Anything is always worth whatever people are willing to pay for it. Wals regularly swap hands for nearly double this on here and elsewhere. Why, because many, many people deem that they are "worth" that. This particular example sold quite cheaply compared to the current market values. No doubt that was due to collection only and cash on collection.
  17. I only know because I owned one and someone told me it was painted...
  18. Except that isn't a veneer. It's actually painted believe it or not.
  19. There were a few models of later Rockbasses that featured neckthru builds. The tell tale signs of a Rockbass are multi piece maple neck that is part of a non-hidden neck thru design and also high gloss finish. The made in China stamped on the back of the neck is also a giveaway
  20. I wonder if the ink will line up correctly with the ballpoint or come out misaligned...🤔
  21. If only they had thought to put a pickup guard on it to hide the shoddy alignment... ... it probably would have ended up like this:
  22. You are right but for me it's even worse than that. IMO they should never be producing instruments with such poor quality in the first place. Especially not at this price point. And to then let such a poor instrument be given out for review is a triple fail! But given the terrible setup on the bass they have been using for the promotional photos, seems they just don't give a stinky poo anymore.
  23. That's! I've owned nearly 80 basses and never had such issues. Mostly though the basses I've owned are older basses. The only bass I've bought new was a Yamaha TRB4 II in 2000. Built like a tank and impeccable build quality. Also, I've only ever owned 1 Fender so maybe that explains it...
