1.
Looks like a glitch with eBay. Ad now shows actual bass with starting bid of £320. Laptop at £170.
or the scammer reliased that his scam wasnt going to work if he sets the start bid so high!
  2.
New guitar arrived today. The wood grain is "normal" and no damage to speak of on initial inspection. Only had 2 mins with it tho as I'm at work. Full inspection and report will follow But I'm over the moon with how it looks
it could just be the photo but it looks to me like you need to remove the scratchplate to access the trussrod? please tell me that isnt the case!
  3.
I've seen some Fodera copies before but not anything quite like this. I'd love to see it in the flesh just to see how well made it is.
the trussrod sticking out 1/2" at the base of the neck doesnt inspire much confidence...
  4. Probably not a bad bass for the price and could be worth it for the shock value alone when you take it out your gig bag at next rehearsal!😉
  5. Never seen a Fodera copy before: Look at this on eBay  http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/162344363846
  6. But that isn't the sale price? It's just the current highest bid...
  7.
Wouldn't hesitate to send it back - very poor wood selection - looks unnatural in my view. You have the love the look as much as the sound.
Unnatural looking wood? Now I've heard everything!😂
  8. I just tried to look at the photos via the link and it just spammed the sh*t out of my phone!
  9. Why don't you provide the details that have been requested? I don't understand your reluctance to provide as much info to potential buyers as possible. If you don't want to sell your bass, this is a good way to do it!

What are you selling and why is it to be confirmed when you know the value?
  11.
I don't get this thing about cheap strings on a bass. It's like buying a sports car and then having the cheapest tyres available put on it. Why would you do it to a bass? I use DR strings but I pay £14 a set...
absolutely. and quality strings, like tyres, last longer so although the initial outlay is more, in the long run it's a better investment and not to mention they sound better(the strings that is, not the tyres!)
  12.
I think you know where you are when the opening word, "nice", is a lie.
Indeed! If that is a "nice" one I would hate to see an ugly one!!
  13. i have this problem too and just read one of the many hundreds of emails from ebay and noticed the fine print: [i][b]"You were sent this e-mail because your Notification Preferences indicate that you want to receive information about Special Promotions, Offers and Events. 14. Why not just string your 4 string BEAD?
  15.
I find the outer nut that sits on the washer can come loose. Maybe I'm not tightening them enough. I also like the look of the Ernie Ball locks
ah ok thats fair enough. When I fit my Schaller straplocks to my straps, i secure the bell shaped reccess in a benchtop vice and then tighten the nut with an adjustable spanner. If you dont have access to proper tools you could always use some loctite to make sure the nut never works loose
  16. Welcome Mark! Nice to see a fellow low end provider from not too far away!
  17. can I ask why you ask? the reason being you mention Schallers but I cant imagine needing anything other than them as they seem to work perfectly and Im so impressed i have them on all my basses and straps. be interested to hear if anyone is less than impressed with Schallers.
  18.
I have a Streamer Stage 1 (aka SS1) which means that it is of neck-through construction (that's the "Stage" bit) and has a PJ pickup configuration (that's the "1"). The standard Streamer (ie. NOT the Streamer Stage) has a bolt-on neck and the SS2 has a JJ pickup configuration (and different body wood?). I think that's right, no doubt someone will correct me if I've got anything wrong. Anyway, here are some pics of my SS1, it's a great bass - very comfortable and easy to play:
Actually there are German built Warwick Streamer Basses that have neck thru construction and not labelled Stage 1 or Stage 2. I have 2 of them so they cant be that uncommon.
  19.
Thanks mate, I've just edited the post.
You're welcome. Ive just had a look at the pics as she is a stunner! amazing condition as well for a 35+ year old instrument! Good luck with your sale
  20. Logically, aesthetically, ergonomically and financially this makes no sense what so ever!!!
