  1. I'm confused, you say you want to replace the existing pre amp but the controls you describe are those of a passive bass - ie. a bass without a pre-amp... Are you able to upload a photo of inside your basses control cavity?
  2. The irony of what you have written is delicious! 🤦‍♂️
  3. Well if that's what you think fantastic looks like, I would hate to think what you consider ugly 🙃😜
  4. And replied. Realistic offers only please. Shipping prices are clearly detailed in the listing...
  5. Just finished repairing a serious crack on a Corvette $$ headstock. The crack was barely noticeable when I purchased it. In fact I only noticed it when removing the tuners to repair the scratches on the front of the headstock. When I removed the tuner though, I saw that there was a significant chunk of wood that was coming away from the headstock. That actually made the repair easier and more effective though as it allowed me to lift up the chunk and inject wood glue using a syringe - this allowed the glue to impregnate the area fully thus affecting a complete repair. After clamping the area and allowing 24hrs for the glue to cure, I sanded back the whole rear of the headstock to remove any glue residue and smooth out the area. After that it was time for melted Warwick wax to reapply the finish. Then a few coats of non-melted wax and the repair was complete.
  6. **now sold** Up for sale is a Warwick Corvette $$, 4 string Masterbuilt in Germany, 2007 Burgundy Red Oil finish, with hardcase. These basses have a well deserved reputation as absolute tone monsters - and for good reason! The twin MEC MM-style humbuckers provide an incredibly powerful yet controlled tone. The 3-way switches for each pickup(serial / parallel / single coil) , combined with the 2 band active pre amp, provide almost limitless tonal possibilities! The long upper horn and the lightweight of only 3.7kg / 8,16lb make this a very comfortable bass to gig! This bass has been used and as such there are signs of wear - most of which is only visible in certain light and at certain angles. If you see the last 3 photos - I have tried my best to highlight the marks on the body. These marks dont normally look this bad - as you will see in the rest of the photos. However I try to highlight any imperfections so you know exactly what you are buying. I will also note that the headstock has been repaired - although you cannot see it because the repair is to a very high standard - please see the last few photos for the pre/post repair state. There was a crack below the E-string tuner, it didnt go all the way through the headstock and now that it has been repaired, there is nothing to worry about. The front of the headstock was also restored to remove some light scratches. Otherwise the bass is very good condition and benefits from having the nut upgraded to a brass Just a Nut III. The bass has received a full setup including new strings. The frets have been polished, the fretboard has been cleaned and oiled. Everything functions perfectly including the truss rod, electronics and hardware. Serial number: e13161906 Article number: 1484380100BZASHOWW produced: 16.01.2007 Description: Corvette $$, 4-string Burgundy Red Oil finish Swamp Ash body Ovangkol neck Black hardware Made in Germany The bass is located in Emmelshausen, Germany. 7. SOLD Up for sale is an awesome 4 string Tobias Growler. Made in America. The Tobias Growler features many high quality components including a Bartolini split coil MM style pickup, Bartolini 18V, 3 band EQ and Grover machineheads. It has a swamp ash body, maple and purpleheart neck, 24 fret wenge fretboard, The neck features dual truss rods which has allowed an incredibly low action. The bass is in very good condition, especially for a 23 year old instrument. There are a few light scratches and marks, as you would expect with a used instrument - I have shown these marks in the photos. The bass is very ergonomic thanks to its sculpted body. The long upper horn makes it balance very well and it is lightweight at only 4KG. Fitted with nearly new D'addario strings and has just received a full setup including the fretboard being oiled and the frets cleaned. The bass is supplied with the original hardshell case as well as a truss rod adjustment tool. The bass is located in Emmelshausen, Germany. Shipping to mainland UK is 90€ Shipping to Ireland is 75€

  9. White bass with gold hardware is just 😍 And that is before you take into account the inlays and those sexy tuners!
  10. Oh wow! What an absolute bargain! I have an earlier 5 string Ken Taylor with a HS configuration and it's killer. Not unlike a Warwick really in terms of a clear distinct and versatile tone and one that cuts through the mix.
  11. Absolutely gorgeous! Looks like a helluva a lot of bass for the money!
  12. Gorgeous SSII! The figuring on the Afzelia is beautiful. Very unusual to have HPW sig on the headstock. I'm guessing this must have been a custom bass Edit - helps if I read the listing first! 🤦‍♂️
  13. **NOW SOLD** I have finally found a 5 string Fortress One so up for sale is my last 4 string Fortress One. This one is from 1996 - hand built in Germany! This is a truly exceptional instrument - not only is the tone incredible and versatile but the bass itself is very ergonomic and exceptionally well balanced - IMO it is the best balancing Warwick by far - thanks to the extra long upper horn. It is reasonably light too at only 4,30kg/9,47lb. Controls are vol(with push/pull active/passive), blend, bass, treble. The bass is in very good condition, especially for a 26 year old instrument! There are some marks though as you would expect from a used instrument - please check the photos for the few dings and scratches - the things that look like scratches near the bolts connecting the neck to the body are actually just part of the finish as they within the finish - ie you cant feel them under your finger. There is also a hole in the cavity cover as shown. All of the electronics work perfectly, as does the truss rod and the hardware. The fretboard has been cleaned and oiled, the frets have been cleaned and polished - the fretboard is the best ive seen on any of the 30+ Warwicks ive owned - very unusual to see such prominent grain on a wenge board.. The bass has just been strung with new Warwick strings. Details as per Hans-Peter Wilfer: Bass Fortress I 4 string Serial Number A 027943 96 Year 1996 Month January Number 027943 Neck Wood Wenge Wood Fingerboard Wenge Wood Frets Bronce Warwick Frets Nut Just a Nut Brass Version Neck construction Bolt On Body 2 pcs. solid Maple Wood Surface Satin Surface Ocean Blue Pickups active MEC PJ Pickups Electronic active MEC 2 Band Electronic Hardware Chrome Hardware made for Warwick Made in Germany / 08258 Markneukirchen / Vogtland-Saxonia Worldwide shipping available - I will only ship using a fully insured and tracked service for everyone’s peace of mind. The bass will ship in a gigbag packed inside a strong shipping carton. There will be extra packaging inside the gigbag and again inside the shipping carton to make sure this beautiful bass arrives exactly as described. If you have any questions please let me know. Shipping to UK is around GBP100 sadly due to the current fuel prices.
  14. Absolutely stunning! I've owned a fretted one and agree these are amongst the best basses you will find!
  15. 100% agree! I have an 87 JD Thumb 5 string. Best neck I've ever played. Mine has Bartolini Js in it and absolutely sings. All the bass you ever need right there!
  16. These are spectacular basses! I have an older model with a H S pickup configuration and a 2 band EQ. It is effortless to play, ridiculously comfortable with a super fast slim neck and a very versatile and puchy tone. Very similar to a Warwick in many respects. Outstanding build quality too and mine is quit light too.

  18. Wow! Gorgeous Streamer! Bartolini are the right choice for a Streamer IMO. GLWTS
  19. Ritter Royas are exceptional instruments - crystal clear piano like tones, incredibly versatile EQ and stunning build quality and looks.
  20. I have a 5 string Sandberg Ken Taylor - easily one of the best sounding and easiest to play basses I own or have owned! Incredible tone that cuts through the mix like a warm knife through butter Sorry to hear about your business. I hope things turn around for you soon
  21. Yeah I've had similar experiences. The bass you mention wouldn't be a 6 string Stage 1 would it?
  22. **SOLD** Now going even cheaper! Price Drop to only £725 for German made Stage 1!🤪 For sale is my 1987 Warwick Streamer Stage 1 lined fretless. The good news is this is a fantastic fretless bass - it's from the 'golden era' of Warwick and so it has great build quality and the best hardware - solid brass bridge, Schaller tuners, brass nut, EMG pickups etc. The tone is incredible and versatile - active/passive electronics with treble and bass controls. It has so much fretless "mwah" when you play it! The not so good news is that the headstock was broken - typical for streamers of that era. The break in the headstock was professionally repaired 20+ years ago so no need to worry now - the crack has been filled and painted over on the back of the neck so you won't feel it while playing. The other downside to this bass is that it was once played left-handed. Because of this, the owner added a straplock to the lower horn. He put it on very poorly though and I left a big hole when I removed it. I took the bass to a luthier who repaired the hole so the bass was as strong as before. I then painted over this repair to try and make the bass look like new. The color match is not exact, but the repair on the neck or lower horn cannot be seen on stage or from more than 1 meter away. I have priced the bass accordingly. I would add that, despite the details HPW has provided below, I believe the bass was not originally fretless, but was converted to fretless at some point in its life. Also, the fretboard is Wenge, not Ebony. Also, I added the active/passive volume pot - it is a high quality MEC pot as Warwick themselves would use. Here are the specs of the bass - straight from Hans Peter Wilfer (Warwick CEO) - Bass Streamer Stage I 4 strings Serial number M 1108 87 Year 1987 August month Number 1108 Neck Wood Wenge Wood with Maple lamination Fingerboard Ebony Wood(see my comment above) with real mother of Pearl Dot inlays Maple Frett Lines Fret's NO Fretless Yes(see my comment above) Nut Brass Nut Neck construction Neck through Bodysuit 2pcs. solid Annegre (I guess) wood Surface Dark Blue Highpolish Pickups active EMG PJ pickups Electronic active MEC 2 Band Electronic Hardware Gold Hardware made by Schaller for Warwick Made in West Germany / Pretzfeld / Franconia
  23. Thanks for the offer but on reflection I need to make some room before I buy another bass.
