What does it weigh, out of interest?

I've not done any finishing, but there's loads of videos on Crimson Guitars channel, and they sell some lovely coloured stains too... I watch the videos for relaxation

Reminds me a bit of a Shergold Butcher block stripey guitar I saw once

I did have the circuit diagram, sketched out by a local luthier. I'll try to find it later

I don't know if it is just mine, but I find the sound very aggressive and bright for a shortie, even with half rounds on I usually have the tone down to about 3/10. The reason I thought it could be just mine is that it's an fsr with ebony fingerboard, and I have a guitar with ebony board and that's also very bright sounding... -

Yes, mine did dive somewhat. I changed the machines for smaller (much nicer!) Gotoh ones and the balance is now neutral. The whole thing is now bang on 8lbs. -

@laurence birdhi there, I've only just seen this thread (tip, use @xxxxx next time!), but to answer, yes, the Truvox did work, with all the caveats outlined above. Acoustic instruments sound really nice, and the reverb is lush. As long as your expectations are realistic for bass use ( pretty quiet) and seal the box properly, you're good. I played around with customised settings on a tc spectracomp to help keep the cone under control which also helps get a bit more out of it too. Hope this helps! MBA -
Pair of Semi Hollow 4 strings - Fretted and Fretless

Looking on their website, they have ready made fretless line markers too. Pretty dear, as they say the manufacturing yield is low. -
I've got a black Fender bridge up in the market place from months ago still up for grabs...

The blocks really enhance the figuring on the fretboard. Great choice! -

Is there anything to stop the aluminium lines corroding? just thinking sweat might interact poorly with unfinished aluminium. -
Yes please!

Any feel for the weight yet? Looks hefty somehow, but I know mahogany can vary a lot. But I hear Wals can be on the weighty side, so that would be authentic!

If you could mix the aux signal with the bass signal before going in to the interface, that would work, but still only be in mono...

You can use the r16 2 different ways. Record all your tracks together on up to 8 channels. Each channel will produce a wav file which you can then import into the daw either by hooking up via USB to your computer, or by removing the sd card from the zoom and reading that into your computer. OR Hook up the Zoom to the computer running Garageband. The r16 can then be used as an 8 input audio interface. You may need to load the Zoom asio drivers to get this to work properly. You do with a PC, I've no experience with a mac. This will also produce separate wav files for each track, as long as the zoom is set up correctly to do so. Which way you work will depend on your circumstances, and if you have the computer available where you record etc. One thing to bear in mind is that if you use the Zoom as an audio interface you don't have access to the built in eq, effects etc, but these things can all be done in Garageband anyhow. Hope this helps! MBA
