  1. My local sorting office was on strike last week apparently, over lack of adequate distancing and measures at work.
  2. Ah, we're back to 3 votes again. Will have to listen again in case I missed one...
  3. I'm another with more guitars than basses. 1974 SG Special Godin Solidac 96 Korean Squier Tele Eggle Berlin Pro 93 (yes, another Eggle!) Gordon -Smith GS1 12STRING Art & Lutherie Ami parlour acoustic Will do a picture if anyone is interested
  4. Yeah, I noticed soundcloud stopped working properly on my old kindle the other day. Some kind of stupid update I suppose
  5. I wish I'd put a few hundred more guitars in mine now, Bob! Good stuff!
  6. ARE you using compression inside garage band? You didn't mention it, and could be what you're missing in terms of bass sound when mixed in with all the other stuff.
  7. Even better, we need some more out there stuff!! I was going to do a groove in 13/8, but YouTube told me not to do it! Even more reason to try, but I don't have the chops for it on the drums.
  8. I'm looking forward to this one in particular (I think!). Better get your finger out, closes tomorrow, and you don't want a repeat of the MoonBassAlpha fiasco last month!
  9. Marmalade sandwich! (only kidding)
  10. I feel your pain after a session on the 12string and rounds on my fretless. I've suffered for my art, now it's your turn (when you listen to my "art")
  11. Not like me to be in with time to spare, but did this Sunday afternoon, with a bit of editing tonight. As it says in the notes, my first end to end tune done in Reaper. I tried to keep the processing to a minimum, but couldn't resist using the Leslie speaker fx chain for the 12 string rhythm guitar. I'm still working, but have had more time in the evenings to play the drums. Hope there's small green shoots of hope there. I deliberately constrained myself by playing the tune in octaves. Without constraint, I found myself playing inappropriately fancy rock star guitar that ruined the mood.
  12. I'm getting close finishing something this month. It's got quite a sad vibe, but hopefully a bit uplifting too, but that's not really for me to decide.
  13. Very sad. I didn't know him but people I know who did, say he was a lovely fellow.
  14. ^ might be worth cloning your hard drive now?
  15. I have the Rode, it does fine, though I find my RedV dynamic mic works particularly well for my singer's voice, at a fraction of the price.
  16. With brand new strings on !
  17. Thanks. It was all too last minute and I didn’t have access to the stems. I can't be bothered now! I would normally do a little more referencing.
  18. I can feel my tentacles going all osric @@
  19. Good work Fingers! Looking forward to the next picture.
  20. In at the end and voted. Still time for someone to redact their vote and vote for me
  21. Ha! Talking about the gear not the playing. I'm making it a mission to improve my drumming during this enforced break from sports, I did my first rudiment yesterday!
  22. Aw, thanks Douglas. Drums are a 60s British Rogers kit, mostly Paiste 2002 and signature cymbals. My friend Rob put the track together using Band in a Box, but with a lot of tweaking to the standard output and mixed several different renderings to arrive at this take. I didn't have access to all the stems when I put the drums on and it's too late to remix it now, so it's as-is!
  23. would Mark King or Flea be best at the Composition Challenge?
  24. Oh, dear! I WAS going to take it down. I listened on my phone speaker and it sounds a lot worse than on headphones
