  1. I think that's a no, then! I didn't get ibtl !
  2. OK it's really scrappy but what the heck! Excuse the mix too, but the playing is so scrappy I wasn't going to waste time polishing it Backing by my mate Rob, who actually spent quite a lot of time on it, then I did the drums and cowbell in a proper hurry. Nicked some of the cowbell patterns from Sun Zoom Spark by Beefheart. I'm not proud!
  3. Is it too late to enter? Had a bit of time on my hands today and tried some jazz rock drumming
  4. Thanks Douglas, I'm pretty sure he downloaded the driver and still couldn't get it to work, so maybe the amp is faulty. Thinking out loud, maybe there's a firmware update available? Yes, the focusrite is a consideration, i guess the cheaper Solo would also be fine?
  5. It would be really useful for my guitarist to record his own takes in to Reaper while he's working from home and we aren't getting together at mine for recording. He only has an old laptop running w10, no mic input (built in only, I guess?) but does have usb. He tried a Blackstar id which didn't work. He's pretty skint, what's a good option?
  6. If this sells, will the seller be gormless?
  7. How about securing plastic shuttles with magnets? As you might imagine, it's easier to slide magnets across the surface they're stuck to than pull away perpendicular to the surface.
  8. Psychedelic teddies taking a run up to kick Bishop Brennan up the ar$e?
  9. That fretboard wear looks more like damage from long fingernails rather than strings. My guitarists Tele looks like that and he has talons!
  10. Do the phones have a plug with tip and 3 rings as most Earbuds have these days? I've had unpredictable results without this type as the ground connection isn't always made correctly. Often just sounds thin, lacking in bass, in both ears though.
  11. Some preamp valves have metal covers, so you wouldn't see the glow anyhow.
  12. A photo of the inside of the control compartment may yield some replies. It does make you wonder why it was disconnected in the first place though. ..
  13. Do people use stretch markers to do this? I know you CAN use them, but are they used in practical editing?
  14. I'm sure many will have had an email today from Soundcloud, and their change in offering. Any thoughts? I was a little confused. They now say you can store wav files but are limited to only 15 tunes. Not explicitly stated if this applies to lossless formats or all e.g. mp3s as well. I expect 15 is the new limit and they would like you to buy the premium service to upload more.
  15. Might be worth considering minimising the use of aluminium to the structural areas as it might turn out rather weighty.
  16. Just out of curiosity, what do those studs do?
  17. Is it called the "Swift"?
  18. had this with Chromes. I suspect it's the residue from the polishing process on Flats, could be similar for rounds?
  19. As these speakers are subs they may not have enough mids to sound good. I've never heard one, so couldn't say for sure.
  20. Excellent write up, thanks for that!
  21. I'm more of a drum owner than player, and I find my hand gradually works its way towards the butt end of the stick during a tune. This process stops when I get to the end of the stick (usually!) but this gizmo would help that enormously. I should really get some technique, but that ain't gonna happen any time soon! This has got me thinking if a rubber band part-way down the stick to form a slight ridge might help me? Might have to try this out!
  22. I don't quite get the sentence about the bass response.
  23. Good to hear real life experience of this. Thinking about it, I think it was specifically the Cool Rails ones that are widely lauded for Musicmaster/Broncos.
  24. The original Musicmaster pickups were 6 pole guitar pickups, so go figure. People use them (Rails pickups), and apparently sound great so it's just good information. Sorry if you considered this comment a de- "rail"
