  1. For future reference on this type of problem, at work we find a Torx drive bit of similar size and bang it hard into the shredded hole with a hammer. The Torx ends are hardened and will form sufficient imprint to then drive the screw out using the same driver. Hth
  2. I've got some metric ones in stainless, if that's any help. Means they won't get rusted in place!
  3. Are you looking at 2 different amps for the woofer and tweeter, and dsp to keep things under control? Is that what you mean by a fully active system?
  4. Maps and Atlases at Oxford O2 with Ciphers last night. Interesting stuff and a great looking hollow Strat with Jazzmaster pickups. Had to google it, turns out it was one of their pawn shop special editions. 57 r.i bass.
  5. Infinite recursion - another prog band name?
  6. I think the term was solarizing.
  7. Looks like someone has smeared their bum all round the edges of those poor guitars
  8. I doubt you really need anything super strong. A neat way of doing it would be to arrange the cover so it would pop open when you press on one end of it, kind of pivoting in the middle.
  9. you whistle it, we'll pick it up!
  10. Lemonheads? Placebo had a raft of hits too.
  11. Good stuff chaps, also great to hear Dad back in the fray! Like Lurks, May take a couple of listens to decide.
  12. I do remember they were pretty much budget level, but solidly built. Their combos were more or less a flightcase type construction.
  13. How about using those silk gloves that Scott Whassisname uses? Then you wouldn't need to bother washing your hands at all! I'm sure it's the oil/sweat and skin cells that kills the zing.
  14. This is what I was thinking:
  15. I'm sure T. E. Would have used u.v. led strip lights, had they been available back then. A tenner would buy you enough to bling your cabs up too!
  16. I'd worry about the balance, even without a headstock, with that (hollow ) body shape.
  17. Did you consider a light tint on the neck? I have a birdseye neck with a bit of brown in the tint and it really makes the figuring stand out.
  18. My reply was aimed at the op where there was no output at all, yours may be the amp, but could also be the speaker voice coil rubbing. You can check this by gently pushing the cone back and forth using a plastic cup or wine glass around the dust cap for even pressure and listen for rubbing/scraping sounds.
  19. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Taiwan-Alpha-SF12011F-0202-20R-M-011-DPDT-Momentary-Action-Foot-Switch/112806067173?epid=1728956886&hash=item1a43c3fbe5:g:opkAAOSw1hJb-72r&redirect=mobile Maybe?
  20. Do they click and latch? If not they are momentary switches which will latch a logic gate. So you would search for something like single pole momentary footswitch.
  21. If you can unplug the speaker from the amp chassis, you could touch the speaker cable on a 9V battery to see if it crackles. That would rule out the speaker itself being completely dead.
  22. If it has been left unplugged on it's stand for months the pins on the connector may be oxidized. I've seen this with electric guitars. May be worth a spray with deoxit or servisol and working the lead on and off a few times.
  23. Looks like a good venue, where in KL is it?
  24. If it's loose enough to touch the strings, that would make a noise for sure.
