Hi Folks, wasn't going to chip in this month (holiday etc.), but found myself with a few free hours yesterday and today. Tune for Basschat composition challenge Sept2023 Imaginary rainfall, rhythmically inspired by something from Isotope's Deep End album from many years ago, kind of. Hope I'm not too late this time!!

Even tougher choice than usual! Good work folks! I don’t think my entry will trouble the scoreboard this time around... -
Glad to see I'm not the only one doing it all at the last minute!

Hi folks! It has been a while! I wasn't all that bothered this month but I suddenly felt the urge this afternoon. Another quickie, Blackstar BEAM for guitar and bass, drums played with mallets for a change. Listen to Another Blue World.wav by Jules Moss on #SoundCloud https://on.soundcloud.com/hsZKm

ACOUSTIC CONTROL CORPORATION MODEL 126 COMBO-QUESTIONS
MoonBassAlpha replied to rocker19's topic in Amps and Cabs
I played through a 126 combo last night. It was plenty loud and had a really solid sound, with all the eq flat and the volume on about 2. It was a backline amp provided by the venue, glad I didn't have to lug it up the stairs!- 20 replies

Basement studios in Watford had one in every room, and later the black panelled ones without the back-light. Cool workhorse amps. I think I replaced a 2n3055 transistor in one for them when I used to work a couple of units away on the same road. When this HH stuff first came out, the e-l back-light was THE coolest thing!

Pic would make a good album cover for my band, Charms Against the Evil Eye...

Anyone use these for overheads on drums? I'm looking at a matched pair as mine (Red5) have a slightly different response, both level and tone. Subtle but noticeable.

Nice grain on the body, any idea what the wood is? -
Voted. It's very even this year!

For live, will mostly be using a dynamic mic, I suspect

Difficult choices ahead, requires further listening.

Entry for the Basschat December 2022 cover song challenge. As suggested by my friend Rob for an occasional get-together we have with another school friend Paul (we used to jam together and did a couple of gigs). The parts were subsequently recorded remotely, and mixed by me. Rob did the main vocals and 3 backing vocals, Paul provided the Rhodes, grand piano and Hammond tracks and I did the bass (Mustang) acoustic parlour guitar, drums and the main backing vocals. Gear: Mustang p-j bass, Gretsch Renown drums, Art and Lutherie Ami parlour guitar with old strings, Eggz shaker! Recorded in Reaper using stock plugs

I'm working on one, roping in a couple of old friends for some remote collaboration. Hope my piano player comes through, he likes the song, but has limited time as he's writing a musical on commission ....
