Well. It covered a wide range of music, from Stormzy through Stereophonics to Melanie and beyond. You could argue about the quality of the performance, but that is simply personal point of view. If enough people didn't watch it, it would soon go.
Dont need to. Its a music show so that will do. If I made one with all the stuff I like lots of people would complain about the content. And quite right, cos you cant please everyone so please yourself.
It seems like the usual "I hate everything about the Hootenanny" thread that we have every year. Obviously putting the term "Constructive" in the title was just a sleight of hand. Anyhow, its a TV prog with music in it so it always gets my vote, even if some of the music is not to my taste.
I am sadly familiar with the trails the TV companies constantly run for them. As for watching them? Never, the dispiriting and often violent adds are more than enough.
The three women with the guitar were the highlight of the night for me. Great harmonies and they sang like they actually meant it. No going through the motions, I like a bit of naked enthusiasm.
Blah blah blah. Moan whinge moan. Its not like it was in my day. What a load of whining old fa*ts. Watch Corrie or East Enders instead for some light relief.
If you are joining an already formed band you would surely have some idea what music they were playing, so that rules out musical differences. Or the audition might flag up their musical tastes.
Anyway. Tonewood? Where is that from then, a tonewood tree? I had a cheap Strat copy and it sounded superb, it was made from......plywood. There again it might have been plywood from a tonewood tree.
Firstly it has to be Rock, so the Spice Girls might struggle. Secondly....it must be a classic. Simple really. There are songs I hate and bands I find risible, like Iron Maiden, but I cant deny they are in the classic rock mould.
Not metal, too nailed on. I love drumming to a bit of jazz or funk as a nice change. Some subtlety and groove. Not my genres but a nice change. Anyway my tinnitus would not take metal.
Never understood this "Band leader" thing, unless its a brass band. Every band I have been in has been a democracy. Unless its a solo musician with an understanding that the rest are simply hired hands. Anyway, they sound like a bunch of twunts, you are well out of it.
One of the best, I think. It has thought provoking lyrics. Centuries of conscript soldiers away from home for Xmas. Heartbreaking. Lyrics maketh the song.
