  1. I knew it reminded me of something…
  2. What model is the silver P+MM 3rd from right, there?
  3. I’ve never tried one, but Sire enjoy a good reputation and the reviews are excellent - seen other people compare the two brands on YouTube etc, and the Sires come off better. As everyone says though, go try one in a shop first. Or buy online and use the distance selling regs to return it if it’s shite!
  4. Wow. Off to sulkily pluck “another one bites the dust” and pretend I didn’t hear that acrobatic madness.
  5. The Sire P-bass with the roasted maple neck and rolled fingerboard edges would be top of my list if I were starting again.
  6. “I’m trying to thin the herd. What bass shall I buy?” Basschat in a nutshell.
  7. That looks awesome! I love a bit of texture in wood.
  8. The first one is lovely. The second you could probably find again easier, no?
  9. Nothing gets past me… eventually.
  10. You know it’s 2022 though, right?
  11. Nice of them to answer in GSCE maths stylee first, then give weights of their other basses.
  12. Ah! That’s hopefully the explanation 🤣 Still, would be much more useful of them to quote the weight of the instrument only - I don’t tend to gig with basses still in their packaging 🤪
  13. Duplicate 🤦🏻
  14. 5kg? Is that boat anchor territory? Pretty sure my JV P is 3.4kg. https://www.bax-shop.co.uk/right-handed-bass-guitar/sire-marcus-miller-p5-4-alder-mild-green-electric-bass-guitar?utm_source=google&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=surfaces&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIxt3jguWx9QIVmuvtCh2P-gr6EAQYASABEgIxG_D_BwE
  15. They ain’t smooth, but I don’t tend to touch it during playing so not an issue for me. Technique-dependent, I guess. Love mine - been gigging it for 10 years.
  16. That’s not irrational, it’s a nice bass. I want one, too!
  17. To be fair, it looks kinda cool. And the video shows it can look quite nice all cleaned up. My first bass was a ridiculously heavy Kay, and I’d previously written the whole brand off, but these threads have certainly made me think twice (esp. with the paint jobs @Maudehas been giving them!)
  18. My main DAW at the moment is GarageBand on my phone! Surprising how much I can do on it before exporting to my desktop. Challenging myself to work within the limitations is quite fun.
  19. There’s no info on Google, other than a reference to a Jazz bass, by someone called Lex Luthier in Hertfordshire.
  20. The courier costs could scupper you - they are known for their weight! Definitely check that with the seller before making any decisions!!!
  21. Cool people don’t give a sh*r about logistics
  22. Bass playing is thirsty work, so…
  23. Wife-friendly living room setup
  24. And cables
