NDBD: Squier Affinity Jaguar H (first D is for damaged, not double)
Pea Turgh replied to neepheid's topic in Bass Guitars
Crikey - that looks like it should have been protected by the corner of the box. Must have been a hell of a whack. I hope they resolve it to your satisfaction. Nice bass, either way! -
Anyone have any experience with a brand by the name of Groove?

Looks suspiciously like the Harley Benton headstock and control plate. -
Obscure Musical Backwaters - The Great SGC Nanyo Thread

I’ve no personal experience, but I’ve heard it mentioned that a rewind can be cheaper than a new pickup. Probably quite a few companies that could assist with that. Radioshop Pickups, Oil City Pickups, there will be more! -
I love auto-correct! FX sound. 😂
-
Is it my imagination, or is there a bit of latency between the original signal and the fox sound?
-
Sounds interesting. Off to find some YouTube demo vids…

Sorry for not responding sooner - will try to make it this year, but still not 100% sure I can, so will have to pay on the day though if that’s Ok @scrumpymike? Also, have a couple of people who might be interested in coming along too.

It’s not new. Just a different colour. £450 though? Bloody inflation. Would look better with parchment or mint white scratchplate.
-
That looks cool, but it would be nice to see some other colour options.

Can’t remember all the cabs that were tested, but there were definitely BF & LFSYs cabs @ the South West Bass Bash. The LFSys was the clear winner to my ears.

A bucketload is half a bass. A shedload is around 34 basses. A boatload is around 4.56 shedloads. A train station is around 6.4 boatloads. I can’t work out metric, though.

That sounds like a lot of sales!

I love my Barefaced Two10, and I’ve also experienced the delight of lifting up a Rumble combo (had to ask the salesman if the driver had been removed). Also, your body is still capable of fixing itself - don’t write it off! Eat right, sleep right, exercise right. Getting down the gym was a game changer for me.
-
Oh wow - I remember those! I’ve never seen one in real life, but they look absolutely fantastic. What is the sting spacing? Weighty or floaty?
-
Just dug out the stuff I used - two coats makes a nice satin finish. Admittedly, the cab ain’t gigged, but it still looks like new.

Hello. It’s just a standard household emulsion in a colour that I fancied, then with two coats of a paint protector of some sort, meant for making standard emulsion wipeable. Seems to be holding up pretty well still!

Could save yourself a little hassle and try to flatten/buff up the existing finish? Looks like a nice colour! My first refinish looks ok from a distance, but man was it a lot of sanding to get there! The bass came to me with spray can finish over 50yr old poly - probably still have some remnants in my lungs. Stripped back to bare wood and stained, then used a wipe on water-based coating. Both from Crimson Guitars. The wipe on stuff I found a little tricky.

Hello folks. Might be getting an old bass back that will need new hardware, so I thought about doing a headless conversion. Spotted this on Amazon; https://amzn.eu/d/dV32JBT Under £50 and doesn’t say “Overlord of Music” on it. Anyone tried one?

I cut my port hole with a jigsaw, very very slowly. The port is friction fit. I was surprised, but seems it is possible.

A very special customising job for Happy Jack
Pea Turgh replied to Andyjr1515's topic in Build Diaries
That looks so good! Love the contrast between the warm wood and cold metal. The blocks on the neck continue the block shape of the pickup and bridge. Great choices @Happy Jack and great execution @Andyjr1515. -
Bought this on the back of a load of YouTube video-watching. Awesome little sampler/sequencer, capable of producing whole tracks really. Alas, not for me. Bought the housing for it a few days after buying the unit itself, maybe February time, it’s hardly seen any use and therefore is in amazing condition. I wish I had more time to get to grips with it. Yours for £70 inc UK mainland postage.

The Short Scale Bass Appreciation Society!
Pea Turgh replied to Baloney Balderdash's topic in Bass Guitars
That looks awesome, John! Needs the 2nd pup for visual balance. Will the new scratch plate render the black ring unnecessary? Could even lose the chrome surround for added sleekness? -
Got to see how that one turns out @Bassassin!

I would like to try 6 at some point. This seems like a good option to try it out. Would be tempted to take a hacksaw to the headstock though…
