  1. Lightweight tuners? Graphite rods? On an Affinity? And for £320?!!
  2. Ooh that neck wood looks lush! Nice one!!!
  3. That seems like a great package. I will need to buy a new amp at some point, but this one comes with a cab too!
  4. Take the roof off the barn and make the walls safe, then drop a shipping container in the middle of it? Or some form of prefab garden room? Could look really cool.
  5. You’d think he’d buy a new T-shirt before a new bass - he’s grown out of that one.
  6. Thats the fella! https://www.secursus.com/en-gb/
  7. Overland Express are my usual choice, but they’re quoting a bit much for sending a bass to Greece. Parcel Monkey have given me a quote at half the price, but won’t be fully insured. From memory, there was a recommendation here about a separate insurer, but I can’t find it now. Does this ring any bells for anyone else? @AndyTravis - I have a feeling the knowledge came from your fountain!
  8. My intention was to get some for this one. That would make it perfect. I have LTFs on my other shortie - love them.
  9. Due to poor financial planning on my part, this is now in the classifieds 🤡.
  10. Oh crumbs. Here’s another bass I don’t want to sell - not long bought it! 1996 or 1997, made in China, and played quite a lot judging by the gig scars (pictured). Currently wearing round wounds, being sold with the original off-white and replacement black pickguards, also the original chrome dome, replacement black jazz, and funky knobs (pictured). 30” scale length 41mm nut width 17.5mm (ish) spacing at the bridge Nearly 3.6kgs in weight No Bag or case, but will be well packaged for transit. £300 collection An extra £35 for delivery (Overland Express) or happy to let you arrange you own courier.
  11. Thank you for your interest. It’s a 34” standard scale.
  12. I’d pay less for the Bronco in the photo there - bet it’s got scratches on the back from the exposed metal frame of the stand it’s resting on 😱
  13. No need - buy this one and pop a weighted wristband on your wrist. 👍
  14. I’m cutting back the numbers as I’m not playing as much these days. Beautiful flamed maple body, 5 piece through-neck construction - the photos just don’t do it justice - very holographic wood grain! The carving on this thing is a work of art. Seamless neck-to-body transition. Fast 24 fret neck, nice low action and currently wearing D’Addario flats. Lovely tone and lots of variation available with the bass, treble and balance controls. The tone I get whopping up the gain through an Ampeg head is glorious. There are some dings (pictured) as expected on a 20yr old instrument, but nothing that affects its performance. Personally I like a ding or two - makes me worry less if I should accidentally add another. 4.05kg /8.9lbs 40mm nut width. Kinsman hard shell case included - keeps the wee beastie safe whilst in transit. I’ll be sad to see this one go, but instruments should be played. Collection is best, but I can post using Overland Express, fully insured within the UK. Usually about £30. You may have spotted this on eBay - I’d put a cheeky price on it to cover inflation and the ever-increasing fees, but to the Basschat massive it’s just the sum of the bass + case that I paid.
  15. I had the same with the varying stages of my (much more, erm, “agricultural” attempt at) refinish. Bodes well that it looks good on all the layers!
  16. That looks lovely as is in satin! Great colour.
  17. Cheapest I ever did was plug straight in to the 1/4” mic input on a cassette deck I was given. Just had to pay for cassettes! Used to record all my riffs when I started playing. Tomorrow’s mission - find those tapes!
  18. So the original blew, now the replacement is on its way out. Maybe a problem somewhere else, too? Could a duff component on the crossover be the original problem?
  19. Did your old Vista fit in one of those Thomann bags, @Paul S?
  20. Maybe try a keyboard stand instead. I had a heavy duty one for my Hohner Pianet. Pretty sure @scrumpymike had a keyboard stand with an amp on it at the SW bass bash, too. edit: Mine looked like this. 50kg rating, too: https://www.gak.co.uk/en/tiger-kys21-adjustable-platform-mixer-keyboard-stand-black/950321?gclsrc=aw.ds&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwmMayBhDuARIsAM9HM8cZGS1goVGHU7540-G0Z72P_Va8B_S7bVf5aYdcHOQumoMiHUEK6kMaAnKiEALw_wcB
  21. That Bigsby design looks like it originated in the whaling/seal clubbing sector.
  22. I’m usually be up for oly white, but that veneer should be visible! What about a walnut shade of stain? Looks awesome, BTW.
  23. What are the dimensions of the unit, please?
