  1. At £5, I’d do a couple of coats of Ronseal over the plywood - it’d still look cool! I did the same to my pedalboard;
  2. Excellent! I’m not sure the original finish will be up to much even if you did de-gunk. For a fiver(!), and with 3 different types of tuner fitted (another”!”) I’d go maybe just natural.
  3. Cool find! How much did you snag it for?
  4. I knew they reminded me of something...
  5. They look very cool!
  6. Just watched a fair few Uncle Doug vids - I want to built an amp now!
  7. Why am I thinking about Worthers Originals?
  8. I’d be inclined to varnish that so you can still see those joints- looks great.
  9. Gold anodized aluminum!
  10. I like that a lot. I think I need a black P. No, 2 back Ps; one with a black plate, the other with gold anodized.
  11. 10 years on! I think it was worth the wait!!
  12. Ooohhhffff. That’s a beaut.
  13. Cool - thanks. Any idea on the weight, too?
  14. I like that - nicely proportioned. Get some strings on it and the chrome hardware will look great.
  15. Caustic is a fantastic (and free on Windows!) sequencer - give it a shot before spending anything. I love it. ps my laptop only has 3gb ram, but is sufficient for my needs.
  16. I have a Perspex strat that had already been altered to take a different tremolo before it was given to me. At the time I was young and did not appreciate such things, so put a different scratch plate on, drilling new holes. There is no give in acrylic! All the new holes have halo-eff up surrounds! Never mind, it’s only a guitar. Now if that had been a bass...
  17. So glad I posted - such a lot of options I didn’t know I had!
  18. I’ve seen a couple of P-basses with MM pickups fitted recently, and it’s got me reminiscing about my first bitsa I made (and subsequently broke for parts) years ago. I had a Seymour Duncan pickup, but they’re pricey and won’t be implemented in the same way. I’ve also seen ridiculously cheap pups on eBay for £15. What I’m planning to do is put an MM pup in a P, probably just back from where a P pup would normally reside. Ideally I’d keep it passive too. Any reasonably priced options you’ve had a good experience with?
  19. There were soooo many basses to try - I got to play maybe six? Next year make it a two dayer - should be able to make it around the whole room then! On a serious note (bah doom tshh) what about upping the headphone count, like bring your own cans type of thing, so you can hear a bit more of what you are playing? There were moments I thought my brain might liquify there was that much low frequency energy knocking about! Or is that sacrilegious crazy talk?
  20. https://goo.gl/images/CUHmjz
  21. I like seeing as a NBD thread though, I feel like a proud father.
  22. I think back to maple, with black hardware. Looking good.
  23. All I can tell you is that it was bought new in Germany, before its owner (my uncle) went to live in the States in around 1996! The BadAss was fitted 10 yrs later when my first go at a build was broken down for parts (a sad day). It looks better with the original bits back on - what was I thinking?!?! Pretty sure I put the serial number in to an online decoder years ago and it told me the factory it was built in (can’t remember now though) so maybe try that too? Glad your happy with it! I’ve started concocting all sorts of strange mod ideas for the tele!
  24. Seeing in the flesh was immense. The lines & curves - even my wife wanted one, and she doesn’t even play!
