  1. Good spot! I’d let the playability vs price dictate whether or not it’s a worthy purchase. Who cares who made it if it’s a good player?!
  2. As above, then cream strat knobs!
  3. My tech has a Wal. I’m too scared to go near it in case I damage it.
  4. and straight in to the bin.
  5. Crafted from a cheap heavy bass, now is a monstrosity. Nice colour though.
  6. I wouldn’t disconnect the speaker to switch on & off - that might cause damage. Pretty sure Eden stuff is labelled to that effect.
  7. Have they done away with the crash test dummy stripy paint job on top though?
  8. @Maudedid an awesome job on an old Kay. Damned if I can find the thread now!
  9. How does it play now though? If it plays nicely, and something is holding it back, change the thing and have a nice unique thing. I had a dog of a Kay P. Nothing would have improved that beyond the cleansing power of fire. Yours may be different though!
  10. I played a whole bass made by them with one of those in, but it was in a bass bash, so I couldn’t really hear it! Nice bass though. I also bought a Warman MM pickup, but didn’t complete the project it was destined for. So that’s two useless pieces of information…
  11. I bought some wooden full-length wedge-types off eBay. Will let you know how I get on when I fit them (estimated completion date: some time late Feb).
  12. I stripped rat fur off a Peavey 2x10 once - didn’t take too much time. T’was much harder to strip the poly off a bass body IME.
  13. Oh Lordy! That is a fantastic looking instrument! Are you leaving the body a natural colour?
  14. Cracking idea. And execution. Off to sift through local ads for messed up cabs now…
  15. Or sell it to me for £25! 😂
  16. Cut your own pickguard, Ki0gon passive loom and the bits you have - sorted!
  17. I’d love to visit an anechoic chamber. Also love super dead sounding spaces.
  18. Damn! Didn’t know that was a possibility 😂. I’ve yet to try my starter IEM set up (KZ ZS10s & P2). I know one of our two soundies has an XR-something. The other one has a fancypants Soundcraft (I think). No flipping gigs booked in til July though 🤦🏻‍♂️
  19. Isn’t there an app the other members of the band can download to their phones to control their own monitor feeds? That would be one thing less for you to do!
  20. It goes through the install process, but the only thing that shows up then is the uninstall. Must be the old laptop giving up. Will have a pop on my Mac Mini instead. Thanks for the confirmation @andruca 👍
  21. Hello peeps. I’ve previously used the effects editor successfully, but the laptop I had it on has since perished. I’ve tried V.2 on an alternative laptop but the program doesn’t seem to install at all. Not being particularly IT literate, I’m wondering if V.2 is a dud, or if I’ve stumbled across a duff site (zoomeffectmanager.com). Maybe I’m the issue! Anyone with recent version experience? Or a link that works?
  22. That’s a good look 👍
  23. … and then spay a nice thick coat of poly to keep it fresh forever!
  24. The Sonic Foam tips turned up this afternoon. Well happy with my purchase! They feel like they hold the monitor bodies in place, whereas with the (probably undersized) silicon ones seemed to rely on the hooky wire bit. I think I should be able to bounce around quite happily whilst playing without fear of them dropping out. KZ-ZS10 Pro £45 Behringer P2 £50 Sonic Foam tips £15 Provided the gigs have a Soundie who can provide me a monitor feed, that’s a pretty small investment to hear myself (and everyone else) much better, and carry less stuff too!
  25. I have some of these on order, but also found some blue memory foam tips in my box of bits - they don’t fit the buds very well, but blinkin eck they stay in my ears soooo much better! No gig booked in until July atm though, so will be a while til I can try them out properly.
