4. Decided to put this up for grabs as I simply don’t use it and it’s far too big for my needs anyway (plus I‘ve also had a bit of a spending spree on preamps… .). I bought this off a friend in the States about three years ago who, like me, said it was too much for what he needed, “Like using an Uzi for hunting squirrels” were his words I seem to remember….. So, what we have then is an all American built SVT which has been very lightly used and converted to 240V operation by authorised Ampeg service agents, Panic Music. Flightcased from the word go, it’s no exaggeration to say this amp is in mint condition. Mike at Panic recently gave it a full check over and has given it a resounding thumbs up. If you’d like to come and check it over in person where I store my gear near Newport Pagnell, no problem, however you will have to bring 4 ohms worth of cabs to plug into it as I only have a BFM Omni 15 at the moment. Yours for £1100. Also interested in trading for an Aggie DB680 with a bit of cash my way. Ok people, over to you. Cheers Grahame
5. Just out of curiosity, does it have a built in tuner? Ta
6.
Please don't post a vagina.
Quite... Where would you stick the stamp?
7. Nah! These are good for 4 ohms - just set the selector on the back.
8.
How loud is this? I've always wanted a valve head. Ohms?
If you're thinking of cranking one of these, you might want to ensure you have a clean pair of pants handy.....
9. If you really want to use both cabs, then as said above, you'll need to use the cabs in series using a special cable. Dave, aka OBBM (kneels down and bows to the God of quality cables), will knock you one up at a very reasonable price. I used one of these to link two 8ohm cabs to give me 16ohms for my Ampeg - am I still allowed to mention one of these here?- B25. Catch up with Dave here - http://www.bassic-bits.co.uk/ Cheers
10. Hmmmmm...... May not be a good time to put my SVT-CL up for sale........
11. Absolutely! Thanks for taking the trouble putting this up Micheal - very interesting!
12. Just bought Warrens' power amp and found him to be very pleasant and straightforward to deal with. Thanks Warren! Grahame
13. Niiiiiiice!
14. So what valve amp are you looking at Matey?
15. Just bought John's Yamaha PB-1 preamp. Found John to be an absolute pleasure to deal with and really straightforward. Many thanks! Grahame
16. Actually, f*** it! I'll have it! John, you'll be hearing from me. There! That'll teach you all to hang around and miss the bargain of the month!
17. Have a bump on me! I'm also amazed there's been no interest. Team this up with a cheap and cheerful power amp and for around £250 you've got a stonking little rack setup!
18. They do get around these V-Types don't they! Seriously, great preamps!
19. I know it's a bit early but a bump for a top man to deal with! Good luck with the sale Stu I'm sure it won't be around for long.
20.
The 200watt heads i'll be making will be coming in at 15 - 20kg
Ooooooh! May I ask what iron you'll be using Micheal? I'll be keeping an eye out for these!
21. Don't know if it's a good idea or not - but if you do go ahead, I wonder if using distilled water would cut down the risk of damage what with it being free from minerals and sh*t like that.
22. Everything in here is FAR too difficult for me to attempt....
23. Just for the record, I'd like to say that's a very tasty looking piece of kit!
24. Gimme an O!! Gimme a B!! Gimme another B!! Gimme an M!! DAVE!!! Just had a bundle of cables, some of them custom jobbies from Dave. Top, top quality with superb service!
