For Sale Origin Effects DCX bass Virtually new, no marks, does have velcro on its arse Comes with OG box, Postage to mainland UK included. Quite the pedal tbh, huge responsive EQ, Gain until Tuesday or not, like plugging into a vintage desk. Usual blurb from the web below. From Subtle To Saturated, A Studio-Grade Tone-Enhancer The greatest pieces of studio gear are the ones that add something special to the sound of an instrument, going beyond the job they were designed for and enhancing anything that passes through the circuit. One such piece is the UA 610 preamp, which was the inspiration for the DCX Bass. This retro console preamp is famous for adding vintage, analogue colour to a signal, as well as precise control of level and EQ. Push the level harder and you get rich, harmonic saturation of the kind that makes analogue hardware a must-have in any present-day studio. The DCX Bass reimagines this classic preamp as a tone-shaper and drive pedal for bass guitar, with a wide range of clean and overdrive tones, EQ frequencies optimised for the instrument, and our Adaptive Circuitry providing a treble response that reacts to playing dynamics. It’s a signal-boosting, tone-enhancing pedal straight from the studio!

It could be rackmountable, I guess Ashdown would have to make a lid and ears for it though, its mounted in a wooden sleeve like most of their heads. I got a cover for it from https://www.hotcovers.co.uk/ its solid and keeps it safe. The notched controls aren't too bad, you could probably ask Ashdown to change them if you're buying direct

Great tone that, exactly what a bass should sound like

One thing that absolutely makes all my fuzzes/distortions is sansamp at the end of the chain, that analogue cab sim just makes everything sound like it should as opposed to a bag of wasps etc 🤣

Few ones I've used which in my opinion do as you have described sir https://www.moosetwentythree.com/shop/dobsky - not necessarily a distortion but with the tonal options can certainly do it and more https://ashdownmusic.com/products/pro-fx-double-shot - with separate eq and gain for bass and treble can get a nice deep low end and a grindy top end. https://joespedals.com/collections/pedals/products/mbd-mosfet-bass-distortion - great array of tones plus solid low end. https://www.ehx.com/products/bass-soul-food/ - can be quite light, all important clean blend. https://lusithanddevices.com/product/ground-pound-mkii/ - had the first one, mild 2:1 comp on the clean really solidifies the low end, and distortion can go from mild to full bstard, cant comment on the latest model though. if you can find a COG knightfall of TKx, again, sweet clean blend and varying levels of drive I'm currently using an origin DCX bass, no clean blend but eq is huge, and keep a huge low end and can get a really nice saturation to help those loud moments.

Wow, I'm from Mansfield I guess this was back in the day, because I've never heard of it, probably because I didn't start playing until 2002. Oh man, that would have been useful haha

For Sale EMG BQC-HZ System - Preamp system Purchased new for a project that didn't work out. All items present, including jack socket and black knobs. Has the battery bus connector but no battery clip as it was to be installed into a bass with a battery set up. Price reflects this The BQC System HZ is a complete control system for bass guitars using passive pickups or EMG HZ pickups. Active Balance, Master Volume and EQ circuits are included. The EQs allow you separate control over bass, midrange, and treble all via 2 concentric/stacked pots. Rotate the control clockwise to boost, counterclockwise to cut. There is a center detent for flat response. The mid-range control has a variable frequency knob that allows you to sweep through the mid-frequency range from 100Hz to 1KHz. This selects the frequency to boost or cut. Happy to Post!

Well I finally got around to figuring this out, for me anyways. . I changed the preamp to Delano sonar 3 band. The stock glock was my issue, the treble is around 18khz which in my opinion is way too high hence why I wasn't feeling it. Installed a Delano sonar 3 band, stacked bass and treble and a mid control and damn, really changed the whole vibe, frequencies are in usable ranges and works great.
