  1. All bass amp manufacturers - more class A/B options, not everyone wants class D
  2. I have a Sansamp pedal (bddi v2) last in my chain before it hits the amp and subsequent Di out from the amp. In my experience not only does it alleviate this issue for me, whilst still retaining the core sound, but makes all dirt pedals sound so much better and takes that raw fizz off. I'd think that would be simpler than a dual output approach, but there are many ways to go about it
  3. For sale Ashdown 12 Band Graphic EQ Bass DI Pedal. Excellent condition fully working. Great 12 band eq and di pedal, with the classic scoop preset option. Boxed velcro on bottom. Price includes postage. Firstly with limited info on these I'm not sure on price so if it's off just drop me an offer.
  4. For sale: Sire V3 jazz bass in black. 18v pre amp, string with elixir 45-105 Excellent condition. Hardly used. Any questions fire away! Collection or meet up only, can meet within a few junctions of m1 j28. Hard case not included
  5. Had one for a while, not too bad. higher the gain the more loss of low end, but at low gain was good. unless you stick it through a clean blend then even better. But all in all was a decent little fuzz
  6. Fretting hand cramping up more often now, even after a good warm up.

Maybe it's time to go to the dark side. . . .

    And get a P bass . . .

Had Warwick's all my playing life, most recently a thumb 4 for the past few years, thin neck, 38mm nut I think. So tiny compared to p basses, well the top end at 44mm, so maybe I try one?

I used to get terrible fretting hand cramps when I used to play repetitive lines at the nut end of my old 5 string thumb bass (not to mention shoulder/back pain). Although the neck was the chunkiest thing I’ve ever played, in hindsight, the ergonomics were dreadful. The massive neck and tiny body with a short top horn not only was a recipe for neck dive (that meant holding the weight in my left hand and pushing down with my right forearm), but also put the first fret about a mile away from me. IIRC, the string spacing was a little tight at the nut end too.

A decent P type bass that balances properly should help alleviate the problem (it worked me with my Attitude and Squier 50s P).  Interestingly, I also don’t have any issues with my G&L Tribute JB-2 with a narrower nut than a P, but it does has a chunkier neck than most Jazz basses. I can’t get on with thin neck profiles at all.

I’ve come to realise that nut position and neck profile is more important than string spacing!

      Thanks Greg,

I think that's were I'm at. Although my thumb isn't ergonomically as bad as a 5 no neck dive etc, the neck is thin both ways and I have large hands and I do fast runs and dig hard, going to try some basses with chunkier necks. I've been looking at the Schecter model t, I don't really get in with fenders maybe that will change, just need a good shop to go try some out

  7. Cali 76 Bass comp for sale Excellent condition and full working order with box. Has Velcro on bottom Price includes postage to Mainland UK. Blerb below, but If you know, you know. FEATURES LIST: Studio-grade FET compressor optimised for bass guitar and extended range instruments High-current, low-noise, discrete Class-A circuitry Variable side-chain filter keeps low frequencies loud and clear Dry level control for instant parallel compression Easy-to-use Attack/Release control sweeps through a range of useful sounds Fully variable Ratio, Input and Output controls for precision settings Classic jewel lamp functions as an intuitive three-colour gain reduction meter 9 to 18V operation for increased headroom Tour-grade, all-metal construction High-impedance buffered bypass with silent switching Designed and built in England THE DETAILS: Look at any high-end studio and you’ll find at least one 1176® compressor. This iconic piece of outboard gear is the secret behind the guitar tone on many classic recordings. Inspired by the design topology and philosophy of the original, the Cali76 Compact Bass delivers the same natural, musical compression in a compact, stage-friendly pedal. After all, why should high quality compression be confined to the recording studio? Mix your Dry signal in with your compressed tone for true parallel compression. An indispensable studio recording technique, parallel compression gives you thick compressed tone and increased sensitivity while retaining the natural dynamic expression of your playing. The Cali76 Compact Bass’s HPF control gives you access to another powerful studio technique. Using a variable high-pass filter on the compressor’s sidechain input, this control prevents the compressor from being overwhelmed by all the low-end in a bass guitar signal, which can result in excessive compression. By allowing the pedal to react to the dynamics in the high end, the Cali76 Compact Bass has a much more natural feel on lower notes, while higher notes are tightly controlled, keeping slapping and picking from leaping out of the mix. A single combined Attack/Release control provides a continuous sweep of useful settings while Individual controls for Ratio, HPF, Input and Output level offer a degree of control not normally seen on a pedal compressor. Tailor your sound from transparent transient control to flat-out limiting and monster sustain. The rugged jewel lamp houses an intuitive three-colour gain reduction meter, giving easy-to-read feedback from a distance. Housed in a hand polished, brushed stainless steel enclosure and furnished with aluminium controls, Neutrik® jack sockets and heavy-duty footswitch, the Cali76 Compact Bass is equally at home on the road and in the studio.
  8. Unida- The Great Divide (never released which is a shame) Clutch - pretty much every album, but Robot Hive, Exodus Kyuss - Welcome to Sky Valley
  9. I treat it like an 8ohm load, negligible difference, in theory its so you can use 3 of these in 12ohm mode to create a 4 ohm total load, I've used it like this with an 8ohm 4x10 and its 4.8 ohm load. The sensitivity of the speakers means it really shines, although if you we're using it as a stand alone cab, you'd have it at 4ohms.
  10. Got a 97 model, had various others, Any more spec / got a year? like @Machinessaid, if it's a German build and in good nick, that's a good price
  11. The few years leading up to Covid, we we're doing average 100 gigs a year, that combined with a full time job and the usual life stuff was very difficult. Started a new band over lockdown, averaging around 30 gigs a year now, I've done my time, I'm still tired from 2018! That and combined with rising costs, gigs need to be worthwhile, enough pay to cover fuel etc. This is all originals mind, this year has been quite good.
  12. Syncolima https://linktr.ee/syncolima As much as we all love a bit of Phil it's not genesis 🤣
  13. That Chris on drums? Good lad, not spoke to him in a while. You were in good hands with Phil on the desk too right?
  14. Played Bloodstock festival Friday - definitely the hottest festival I've been too. In house cab was a very rare and very dark sounding Carlsboro 410, glad I took my own head, the Carlsboro head looked . . pants. Sounded great on stage! Can't complain. I'm still trying to rehydrate. Sound was awesome, crowd was packed out. Sandwiched between Exodus and Testament, so not a bad slot. I'm tired . . .
  15. Also a 4.2 user, perfect size. I did get a 4.3 for a bit but that was massive haha
  16. Only one thing that annoys me, I like having the DI on the front like my ABM600, makes things so much easier, instead there's a VU and the DI on the back, not a huge thing but would prefer it on the front.
  17. Currently Using the Ashdown Double shot https://ashdownmusic.com/products/pro-fx-double-shot Really good pedal, can do a nice grind, top end warmth or chunky and everything in between. shout out to the EHX Bass Soul food too, I had one before the Ashdown replaced it. Bite, gain and blend
  18. Saturday - played an all day rock/metal gig at Leo's Gravesend. Had the pleasure of using the in house cab, which was a Zilla 2x10 plus 1x15 in one enclosure. Bit toppy, bit boom on the low E, no time for adjustments, was nice and loud though. Very moist gig! Yesterday, Charity gig just outside Worcester, favour for my engineer mate. used my own cab, sounded amazing. Work this morning- knackered.
  19. Hard to say at bedroom levels currently, will know more after practice next week, feels tighter, more top end with the tweeter, cleaner etc. But less dispersion and pure barefaced beef, will know more at higher levels
  20. Considering just selling now, my 410 handles gigs fine and I'd like a new amp haha
  21. Picked it up for peanuts, just had a blast in the bedroom, yeah sounds alright and pretty light
  22. Hi guys Anyone had the pleasure of one of these on their travels? https://ashdownmusic.com/products/abm-210-neo Picking one up shortly for a mess a bout
