  1. I've found it easy to tap out the shaft sleeves using a correct diameter socket and a rubber mallet.
  2. I'm now a P bass guy....this week. This was my gigging bass for a few shows. And it's a great bass. I love Fiesta Red and I love nitro, so I stripped it and resprayed it with NW Guitar nitro. You can see the procedure here on a Talkbass thread: https://www.talkbass.com/threads/this-is-how-you-paint-a-bass-when-you-have-zero-patience.1507848/ It's been shielded properly and has Fender Custom Shop '60s Jazz Pickups installed and a custom vintage harness. Very quite bass for a jazz bass and nice vintage Jazz tone. (I have the original harness and pickups someplace in storage and will gladly mail those out when we sort out our move!) The light nitro paint means this will relic and mojofy quickly (as it already has). So this is a players bass. Please see the photos. Also note, there is slight check at the neck heal. Only noticed once I stripped back the poly top coat. Not structural. Another nice thing about these basses is that they have the carbon reinforcement rods like their American big brothers. Strung with LaBella low tension flats and includes original Fender gig bag. Can't ship at the moment, but I travel between Lymington and West London weekly and happy to meet in a reasonable radius. Might consider a trade for a American P bass with rosewood and 1 5/8" nut with money your way.
  3. Great condition. Having a bass clear out as I've had a real issue with spontaneous bass regeneration. I just purchased a Fender American Original P bass so I need to get some things sold! Very good condition, but with a few minor blemishes. This satin finish on the Performer series seems like a light finish, so it will mojofy quicker and better then full on poly basses....if you dig that sort of thing, which I do.....Also includes case candy and Fender truss rod tool as well as original gig bag. Professionally installed Aguilar AG 4P/J-HC hum cancelling pick ups were added which balance and sound fantastic. It's the pick up to have for a PJ arrangement in my opinion. The original pick ups will be included in the sale. Strung with Elixir round wounds which sound great. Can't ship at the moment, but I travel weekly between Lymington and West London area so happy to meet within a reasonable radius.
  4. Great condition. Having a bass clear out as I've had a real issue with spontaneous bass regeneration. I just purchased a Fender American Original P bass so I need to get some things sold! I had been playing a Jazz bass for a year or so and then got the P bass bug and have gone through a series of basses. I was actually torn between my two Player series basses and an American Original P bass. The AO won out, but holy cow these Player series basses are fantastic. I purchased this new at the end of July and used it for a few days until I decided I wanted the sunburst with rosewood. This bass is as new with original strings. It has a good set up and includes the case candy and tools as well as a new gig bag. Can only do local pick up but I travel weekly between Lymington and West London (Kingston) and happy to deliver within a rteasonable radius.
  5. Great condition. Having a bass clear out as I've had a real issue with spontaneous bass regeneration. I just purchased a Fender American Original P bass so I need to get some things sold! Purchased this here on Basschat and never ended up using it as long scale basses have taken precedent. No case candy, but includes plain white scratch plate as well as translucent tortoise shell and white perloid. No gig bag but includes the snazzy short scale bass hard case. Strung with D'Addario Chrome medium scale strings. Right now I don't have the time to pack and ship but I travel weekly between Lymington on the coast to West London (Kingston) and happy to meet within a reasonable radius. Just moved house, so don't have a scale, but it's certainly not a heavy bass. Give me a jingle if you have any questions.
  6. Well, I don't have a Status....or anything headless, but if you think about selling it I'm interested. Can you tell me the year and which case it comes with? Thanks!
  7. Brighton Mod weekend 2021 and the Exchange Theatre 2019
  8. Exactly, just to show the scale. It was a tight fit, but a good fit.....as they say....
  9. Greetings Sir, lovely bass. Can you tell me if this comes with the original HSC? Many thanks!
  10. Sorry, no trades as I've had an issue over lockdown of spontaneous bass regeneration. Not sure how it happened....but they're everywhere!
  11. How about 835 pounds sterling shipped?
  12. Don't think they are the same necks as the Pro basses, as I had a 2018 Pro P bass recently. I do know the Performer series do have graphit rods (see above) so there's that. Best, Gunnar
  13. Excellent. Then you know you can adjust string spacing to your desired width...... You see even spacing and Guy doesn't (he's mentioned it before).....you like rosewood and not maple..... Now that we're done with all the tutorials (thanks very much!) back to the sale of the lovely bass. I never knew not having exact string spacing would cause so much discussion.
  14. The general consensus on Talkbass is that they are indeed most likely keeping it quiet to steer folks to the Pro models. But, it makes sense that they have the rods as they are American made necks and would be silly to re-tool in order to not have the rods.
  15. Lovely, multiple string adjustment options with the new American Fender bridges. Buy the bass and you can adjust to your hearts content.😀
  16. Have a look at Guy Pratt's original Betsy original jazz bass, that's actually how he prefers his string spacing. Go figure.
  17. 3 Position saddles so it can be adjusted to your liking!
  18. Hey Ebenezer, I couldn't find the spec either, so asked around on Talkbass and was steered towards a thread that was asking the same question and see above for the answer. Best, Gunnar
  19. Actually, not true. I asked the question on the Talkbass.com site and got this confirmation from one of the members who inquired directly with Fender USA:
  20. Purchased this new 2 weeks ago (but it's a 2018). I loved it so much I tried the rosewood model and decided the rosewood was more up my alley since it's a bit more traditional and I play in a 60's cover band. I'm super impressed with these American Performer models. You get graphite support rods and a fantastic playing neck. I've set this bass up as per Fender specs. Includes truss rod tool, allen keys etc. 4.2kg according to the old bathroom scale. £875 shipped....or £850 local sale, bank transfer or PayPal fine.
  21. I'll also ad, worrying about my gear is also a reason why I don't have really high end equipment. I've sold my Markbass amp set up since we're now using IEM's. I just have a Fender Rumble 40 for any small gigs where I might not use IEM's (and DI that into the PA). I just don't want to worry about my equipment when at a gig, or left in my shed. If someone nics my American Performer Jazz bass it would suck, but it wouldn't be the end of the world to replace it....and I always have my modded Bronco bass as a back up.
  22. I use an uninsulated out building to keep my gear....and futon for naps, desk etc. In the summer it gets blazing hot and winter pretty darn cold. I do have 2 garden/greenhouse low energy heaters to pull some moisture out in the winter. But, I must say, my bass collection hasn't suffered. Although, I do wish it was insulated. We're in the process of moving, so I can show a picture. The positive to our garden is it's surrounded by high walls, and no access to streets or alleyways, so I feel pretty confident it's secure. I also have a camera installed.
