  1. I bought loads of gear from the UK pre Brexit, there were so many bargains to be had, especially from this site.
  2. What makes it even more confusing is that Ireland(Rep) and the UK have other agreements pre-EEC that are now in place, I haven't a clue to be honest. BC is the best place to sell gear but I don't want fellow bass chatters to get hit with a nasty surprise.
  3. Unfortunately I live the opposite end of the country
  4. Does anyone know if items I sell into the mainland UK from Ireland will incur import duty, I've 2 amps , one made in UK the other Made in China, I think there's some rules of origin thing making the UK item exempt for UK tax or something?? Apologies for the laziness but I just figured there's folks here used to buying/selling into UK post Brexit .
  5. I failed utterly miserably, I even bought guitar gear 🙈
  6. I had it for sale for €600, that's about £510. Which I thought was fair. Its been serviced and everything (by Guy at Ashdown)
  7. I've both an Ashdown CTM100 and Ashdown Spyder 550 and I've tried to sell them off on a number of occasions, nothing wrong with them or anything, I just wanted smaller gear. Nobody really wants them, and you know, I don't really care if I never manage to sell either. They're great amps.
  8. Looking at these as a handy amp for quiet gigs . Anyone have any experience with them ?
  9. Quick Question, how often do you change your power valves ?
  10. I’m failing so badly this year I’m now Buying electric guitar gear 🙈
  11. I've a lend of a Mex 'tele juts to keep my hand in playing the guitar again. Great guitar but I reckon the owner will want it back. Was thinking of a squire / HB tele, I just don't want a rubbish guitar that'll put me off.
  12. Played my Ashdown ctm100 through a 2x15 at rehearsal on Sunday. It was VERY loud with just a smattering of tube breakup when chords were played , very nice . I don’t think the VU meter ever hit the red but the needle was busy.
  13. I made my amp more disgruntled Yorkshireman
  14. I don’t think so , there has been a plethora of innovations over the years and what to a lot of bassists play today ? - Passive 4 string fender type basses, designed in the 50s. I would actually say more people are going back to basics than ever, myself included. You’re trying to fix something that’s not broken.
  15. I’ve often wondered this , apart from the folks on this site the average person isn’t into guitars, basses or guitar music that much. Who’s buying all these new guitars exactly? Where do all the old ones go? As you say the don’t have built in obsolescence like cars or washing machines do
  16. I guarantee if you made a fender exactly per the 60s specifications people today wouldn’t like it.
  17. Check out the Harley Benton fackenbacker , it’s got great reviews
