  1. It’s probably the Toneman rebranded
  2. I’m reading 11kg, which is about right for an A/B transistor amp 🤔
  3. Trace Elliot AH500-7. Great amp , just not the sound I was after.
  4. Thomann have a new range of Harley Benton SS bass heads @ 300 and 600w. I can’t make out If they’re class AB or D but they look decent enough as a backup? Has anyone ever used them ?
  5. Yeah my amp hasn’t been sounding great and not as loud as you’d expect. As there’s travel restrictions all over Ireland I figured I might as well just send it to the lions den altogether 🤷‍♂️
  6. Getting my ctm100 serviced at Ashdown. Can’t wait to see/hear what they do .
  7. It’s sweet alright 😍
  8. There’s a good few cool vintage 100watters going for the same price as a PF50t. I thought that carlsbro looked good and very tidily rewired. There’s a really cool 1976 fender Bassman head for sale here on bass chat also ...worth considering both . I can send you the links for both ?
  9. Once you go valve it’s very hard to go back 🤷‍♂️😭😭.
  10. I remember about a year ago a store in Scotland was selling them at rock bottom prices for whatever reason 🤔
  11. Saw this beauty for sale yesterday 😭😭😭
  12. An “I’ve a small willy” bass
  13. If you're really looking for a low powered tone machine, consider a small valve head like the Ashdown CTM 30 / Little Bastard and a One10 Barefaced cab. Other contenders are the Ampeg PF20 or 50.
  14. It wont be super loud through a single Two10 but through a 4X10 it'll easily be loud enough. The handbox 100 WB (actually 120W) is a good option .
  15. "only" 100W is not to be sneezed at for a valve head, especially through an efficient cabinet.
  16. I think that's banned form basschat, along with discussing amp heftness
  17. Wait till you read the “what puts you off” thread . 😂😂😂. I hate maple, I think it’s great etc etc etc .
  18. Or how to start a row on 'tinterweb.
  19. Its one of those first world problems people complain about in the bass world. I used to obsess about things like high mass bridges and neck thru bodies until I realized all my bass heroes all played either passive P or Jazz basses, usually factory standard gear and that its all in the technique and basically being a good player. A bad carpenter blames his tools and all that.
  20. I went to see them in concert a few years ago and Chris Squire was still alive, they had a different singer though. I was very impressed by their musicianship but it seemed very self indulgent. Apart from a few of the hits I found it a bit tiresome. My buddy was late arriving to the gig at the start of one song he left the venue to get a bag of fish and chips, when he returned they were still on the same song, true story.
  21. It's actually really hard to age an instrument naturally if you take any reasonable care of the instrument, even if gigged heavily.
  22. I expect a full report !
  23. My little home set-up
  24. I’m beginning to think it’s probably less risky to use a subwoofer with a built in crossover
  25. As far as I know the tops are general purpose 300w pa speakers , if the additional powered bass cab would give the overall sound a little “push” I’d be happy enough
