I've been eyeing up these, there's an 800W version also, they look great. The Superbassman is 300W, pure valve (uses 6 x 6550s) havnt heard much about them but they should be killer.

It would be worth asking Ashdown, I understand they’ve taken on Trace Elliots , wasn’t Dave green from Orange ? I believe they’re based in Essex -
I bought an Ashdown little bastard 30w around a month ago. Delighted with it for home use.I see them pop up here and there for reasonable money

I keep looking at amps particularly , even though I have nowhere to play them. I think its boredom. Some of my guitarist buddies are looking at amps and I spend time on their behalf looking for bargains for them. 😥

The Harley Benton stuff is amazing value . I bought their 51 pbass last year and I couldn’t fault it apart from rough fretwork but €40 at my luthier put that right . I only sold it on because it wasn’t getting used.

Thomann have a new range of Harley Benton SS bass heads @ 300 and 600w. I can’t make out If they’re class AB or D but they look decent enough as a backup? Has anyone ever used them ?

Yeah my amp hasn’t been sounding great and not as loud as you’d expect. As there’s travel restrictions all over Ireland I figured I might as well just send it to the lions den altogether 🤷♂️

There’s a good few cool vintage 100watters going for the same price as a PF50t. I thought that carlsbro looked good and very tidily rewired. There’s a really cool 1976 fender Bassman head for sale here on bass chat also ...worth considering both . I can send you the links for both ?

If you're really looking for a low powered tone machine, consider a small valve head like the Ashdown CTM 30 / Little Bastard and a One10 Barefaced cab. Other contenders are the Ampeg PF20 or 50.

It wont be super loud through a single Two10 but through a 4X10 it'll easily be loud enough. The handbox 100 WB (actually 120W) is a good option .

"only" 100W is not to be sneezed at for a valve head, especially through an efficient cabinet.
