They’re actually crazy heavy . I mean ridiculously heavy . If they were being used in a building site the HSA would insist you use a hoist to move it...I’m not exaggerating

Weighed a ton mind , 36kg or something used a ton of valves. Sounded great, really warm , clean sounding amp. Tons of bottom end. It had 6x6550s as I recall and a self bias function. I didn’t have it long .

I had a Bugera BVV3000 (SVT clone) a long time ago and I couldn’t fault it . Sounded massive, rock solid and as cheap as chips

A bit unrelated but when a guitarist buddy of mine moved out of home his father put his 1965 fender bandmaster amp out onto a garden shed and left it there for years. I tried to rescue it but virtuously everything inside it was destroyed with dampness 😥

sorry , but that’s a wee bit naff for my liking 🙄, valve heads sound great , no need for go-faster stripes. I suppose the Bugera has an outlandish power rating to match. Enough to power a small house 😂😂. Just opinions mind 😉

What is the best head amp for Barefaced two ten?

I think as its a old school cab so some thing Tubey is probably best suited to it. Matches really will with Ashdown valve or hybrid heads (from experience). If you the a glassy clean hi-fi sound you get from class D SS heads it's probably not the best choice as there's no tweeter there. Gigged it with a AH500-7 Trace head with no 'problems' but I definitely wasn't getting that famously scooped Trace tone from it. -
Some day I might add the Barefaced Two10 and use the 2 ohm out..just to really annoy my bandmates. 😁

Using this set up at reasonably loud rehearsal tonight. The amp is a CTM100 through a since discontinued 2x15 Schroeder cab (one of the speakers is at an angle hence it looks smaller than a 215) the cab is rated at 800w, far in excess of what I need but it has a good SPL rating of 103 (if you can believe that specology) anyway amp only up at around gain -5 volume -6. I was told to turn it down . It has a lovely edgy tone. The ‘mellow’ button made the room vibrate 😂 .

You should be able to shift it easily. Like you I got rid of mine for the exact same reason . It was totally impractical to use it gigging or rehearsals

I'm still there...only 356 days to go! I played with a guitarist the other day who hadn't changed the strings on that particular guitar since at least 2011. I could learn a thing from him.

I once played an acoustic gig in a noisy pub with just a Markbass 801 combo. (i.e. 1 x 8" , 60W). A great little combo, warm and punchy and tiny. -
The svt is an awesome amp but I draw the line at 20kg. I’m not a spring chicken 😅
