  1. Using this set up at reasonably loud rehearsal tonight. The amp is a CTM100 through a since discontinued 2x15 Schroeder cab (one of the speakers is at an angle hence it looks smaller than a 215) the cab is rated at 800w, far in excess of what I need but it has a good SPL rating of 103 (if you can believe that specology) anyway amp only up at around gain -5 volume -6. I was told to turn it down . It has a lovely edgy tone. The ‘mellow’ button made the room vibrate 😂 .
  2. You should be able to shift it easily. Like you I got rid of mine for the exact same reason . It was totally impractical to use it gigging or rehearsals
  3. I'm still there...only 356 days to go! I played with a guitarist the other day who hadn't changed the strings on that particular guitar since at least 2011. I could learn a thing from him.
  4. I once played an acoustic gig in a noisy pub with just a Markbass 801 combo. (i.e. 1 x 8" , 60W). A great little combo, warm and punchy and tiny.
  5. The svt is an awesome amp but I draw the line at 20kg. I’m not a spring chicken 😅
  6. They look amazing but I already own an Ashdown 100w tube head 🙄. Would likely result is divorce 😭
  7. ....kinda gassing for one if those HB-100 amps 😬😅 though
  8. Maybe I need to think about downsizing 🤔. I just can’t think of anything I want to part with 😭🤣
  9. Sent you a message regarding the skyverb, cheers
  10. What do Bugera insist on quoting peak wattage specifications. The RMS values are still impressive.
  11. No Its not a gimmick, its sounds different (i wont say 'better') than a solid state front end. Not as clean sounding but warmer and has better overdrive characteristics.

  13. I 'HAVE' to get a reverb pedal so I'll be out soon I reckon.
  14. yes, I think they got ahead of themselves with this feature. What "I woudda done" is just make very basic amps (i.e. Vol , Bass, Treble, Gain and Master) in the range 100 - 300W using KT88s. No frills. people would love them and they still would have been heaps cheaper than whats in the market at the mo.
  15. Ashdown have a great feature that allows you to bias valves yourself . The VU Meter doubles as a voltmeter
  16. We’re allowed sell stuff to buy new stuff aren’t we 🤔?
  17. Could you ship to ireland ?
  18. Strings don’t really count , I’d consider these consumables
  19. I think they’re the kinda amp you just leave in the rehearsal room and gig with something else.
  20. I think they’re on a par with Harley Benton, not fancy by any means but solidly put together with domestic appliance grade electronics. Not guaranteed to last or be very serviceable but you can get good mileage out of their stuff
  21. Sorry about the resurrection ☹️, I was just curious as to whether any of these are still in the wild. Sold mine about 5 years ago and regretted it.
  22. I had one many moons ago. Great sounding amp for the money, I was let it go because I just couldn’t come to terms with the weight of the thing and was dubious about its longevity. A late response to this thread but I was curious if there were any bvv3000 still out there.
  23. My 500w Ashdown spyder is very loud. I wouldn’t say it’s louder than my trace Elliot 500w amp though. Those things are just brutally loud. There’s a saying, there’s Watts and there’s Trace watts .
  24. It would be a beast to courier 🤣 and would probably arrive in the UK sounding like a dropped thermos flask 😭
