  1. Maybe I need to think about downsizing 🤔. I just can’t think of anything I want to part with 😭🤣
  2. Sent you a message regarding the skyverb, cheers
  3. What do Bugera insist on quoting peak wattage specifications. The RMS values are still impressive.
  4. No Its not a gimmick, its sounds different (i wont say 'better') than a solid state front end. Not as clean sounding but warmer and has better overdrive characteristics.

  6. I 'HAVE' to get a reverb pedal so I'll be out soon I reckon.
  7. yes, I think they got ahead of themselves with this feature. What "I woudda done" is just make very basic amps (i.e. Vol , Bass, Treble, Gain and Master) in the range 100 - 300W using KT88s. No frills. people would love them and they still would have been heaps cheaper than whats in the market at the mo.
  8. Ashdown have a great feature that allows you to bias valves yourself . The VU Meter doubles as a voltmeter
  9. We’re allowed sell stuff to buy new stuff aren’t we 🤔?
  10. Strings don’t really count , I’d consider these consumables
  11. I think they’re the kinda amp you just leave in the rehearsal room and gig with something else.
  12. I think they’re on a par with Harley Benton, not fancy by any means but solidly put together with domestic appliance grade electronics. Not guaranteed to last or be very serviceable but you can get good mileage out of their stuff
  13. Sorry about the resurrection ☹️, I was just curious as to whether any of these are still in the wild. Sold mine about 5 years ago and regretted it.
  14. I had one many moons ago. Great sounding amp for the money, I was let it go because I just couldn’t come to terms with the weight of the thing and was dubious about its longevity. A late response to this thread but I was curious if there were any bvv3000 still out there.
  15. My 500w Ashdown spyder is very loud. I wouldn’t say it’s louder than my trace Elliot 500w amp though. Those things are just brutally loud. There’s a saying, there’s Watts and there’s Trace watts .
  16. It would be a beast to courier 🤣 and would probably arrive in the UK sounding like a dropped thermos flask 😭
  17. Kinda scratching my head as to what to do with the ctm100 now 🤔?. The spyder kinda does what I wanted from the ctm100 with more headroom to drive smaller cabs and less hassle or maintenance. I can’t see myself ever selling the ctm either though, it’s too much of a rare beast and I think they’re only going to increase in value down the road. I do think the vintage barefaced 10” series cabs and the Ashdown valve heads are a perfect match.
  18. Replaced the valves in my spyder there last week and had a rehearsal tonight where I got a chance to push it a bit. This thing sounds incredible when the gain is cranked up. While not exactly overdriven it produces a really edgy “jean-Jacques Brunel” kinda tone with a p bass and pick. My band mates were really impressed. I actually prefer the sound out of this to my ctm100 probably because of the sheer driving force of the solid state back end. It’s a great combination imo.
  19. I have an all valve CTM100 and I found it lost power. I replaced all the preamp valves and the power/volume returned. If your amp has preamp valves it’s a good place to start.
  20. One of my Ashdown heads has 2 fans and they’re dead quiet. I had an orange terror bass before and it was like an airplane taking off 😆
  21. Davy , sorry, sale just agreed, I'm about to mark it sold shortly. (once dispatched)
  22. Check out Puretone Amps from Greece, he seems to have it cracked
