But I'd be well annoyed if I arrived on a gig and had to down tune to play a chart for a song. I have played lots of charts, a lot of Stevie Wonder songs too. Most of my gigs involve reading, and they've always been written out as heard. I have the chart for 'I wish' in front of me now, key signature is Eb minor, notated as played and heard.

That's why the notation should be written up a semitone. [/quote] Well no, it's the TAB that says to detune, I'm sure the strings are labelled Eb/Ab/Db/Gb. You play the notation as written E is E, A is A, Bb is Bb etc.

    I'm sure Nathan detunes his bass by a semitone. I guess that's why there's the discrepancy between the TAB and the notation. I'm sure Bass player magazine say to detune. I've got a transcription somewhere that I did a few years ago and it's pretty much the same as in the magazine, as played being the same as 'as heard'.

    I got mine from Effectspowersupplies for £379 and free delivery. They didn't have them in stock but got one the next day from the distributors, so I got it the day after.

    The Korg M1 is the biggest selling keyboard ever. It has some brilliant built in sounds and is a really great professional keyboard. This particular one is in very nice condition. It has a few very minor cosmetic marks, nothing at all major, just what you'd expect a 20 odd year old keyboard to have picked up over a lifetime of being gigged. The main problem with the M1 is the battery. When this dies then so do all of the factory installed sounds. This has had the battery changed in August. It also had all of the sounds reloaded, so it's good for another 20 years of gigging. It was also recently serviced by a friend of mine. It comes with a very nice and very sturdy keyboard stand. I would like [b]£125[/b] for this and the stand together. I would prefer personal collection, but will post at the buyer expense, but be warned it is heavy ! Photos to follow when i get over my flu .

    Something to maybe consider, if you can get a cheap flight. I bought an Accugroove cab from the Groove shoppe in New York a couple of years ago. I arranged to collect it from them while I was over there for a few days. I flew from Birmingham via Charles De Gaulle in Paris because it worked out a lot, lot cheaper. My return flight was the same route, meaning I arrived back in the UK with my new Accugroove cab from France. I just collected it from the luggage reclaim and walked out with it . I paid for the cab before I went so I didn't pay any purchase tax in the USA either, I was rather pleased to say the least .

    I got my Zon 6 from a guy on Talkbass, that was when the exchange rates were far more favourable. They charge VAT/import duty on everything, that includes all postage, including insurance. Check the insurance small print though, Instruments may not be covered ! I also imported two Acme cabs from there. Fedex worked out best, somedays are cheaper too.

    I have owned this for about 9 months. It sounds great, and is more than loud enough for small to medium sized gigs. It has that SWR sound in abundance, if you like Marcus Miller and Stanley Clarke then little amp is for you. It was designed with input from Marcus Miller, the Aural enhancer has two settings, the standard SWR and the Marcus Miller setting. It is in good cosmetic condition, just some marks on the bottom, the front is like new and it works faultlessly. It has been my back up amp, and I have used it for gigs where I've wanted a more modern sound. I now have an EBS Reidmar which gives me every sound I need. This one has been slightly modified to cut down on the noise generated by the fan. I have had a chrome grille fitted on the side, and there are holes on the top. I read somewhere that someone else did this to their Headlite, I tried it and it does indeed cut down on the noise of air being forced through the original slots. The fan itself is actually pretty silent. Noise was being generated by the air from the fan being pushed out through slots cut into the side of the amp, kind of like wind whistling through trees or gaps in buildings. I have also had a better quality valve fitted to it. [b]The modifications in no way affect the running of the amp, if they did then I wouldn't be selling it[/b] . I'm selling it for a bargain £250 including postage.

    My Dad knows someone who has worked for DHL for a few years. They're now called Yodell . He reckons that they can't afford to buy vans or uniforms for their delivery staff. Me and my Sister-in-law did our entire Christmas shopping via Amazon, taking advantage of my Prime membership. A lot of stuff was delivered by HDNL and some by CityLink. The delivery drivers were just wearing rather scruffy day clothes and using their own cars. I guess they were just taken on for the Christmas rush, but I did wonder what checks were done on them. I had an enhanced CRB check done for my teaching work, it takes a couple of weeks or so to get it through.

    Sometimes you can see the signature on the website, I don't know if DHL do that. I did see somewhere that DHL had a huge backlog of items.

    I always wanted one of these after seeing Sting with his. They're great looking instruments, just the sort of thing I like.
