You,ve got the head ,now get the cab/s You wouldn,t want a diesel engine in a ferrari

There,s a guy advertises decals on fleabag with witty plays on words and writing like jizz bass unprecise bass and stuff like that or will do whatever you fancy, hope that helps a bit.

Hiho I stick a bdi21 in the front and it,s job done. My terror is a later with the hot DI fixed and better valves or not so hot gain depends how you look at it. I also use a floor pod ,hartke bass attack and an overdrive but have settled on bdi21,overdrive and a tuner-that,s it folks. Turn up the presence and it will go glassy treble cutting your head off.I wouldn,t go anywhere without my bdi21,I also use it straight into PA on open mike/jam nights and you have the security if amp/cab cabs go down your still in the PA and can finish the gig-records like a sweetie as well. Orange Terror bass loves pedals, there ye go. Love my terror and sp212 cab, does everything I ask of it and sounds terrific.

Hiho I,m using a terror and a cheap preamp DI box is a bdi21 works a treat and covers every sound you will need.Got mine s/h for 6 quid and I,ve been using it for 5 or 6 years now and it just keeps going, that,s the bdi21. The only back up for me would be another Terror, that,s me though.

The best p-bass I ,ve played is the one I built myself from bits with a Wizard thumper in it. It might not have the name on it but if you get it right it will sound amazing. I put a maple musicman style neck on mine,NOS schaller tuners, high mass bridge as you do and it run out at half the price of a squier So don,t be sad, enjoy your own custom build, put a jazz neck on if you like a skinny neck, maple, rosewood, blocks,no markers, fretless or whatever floats your boat. Piccies when it,s built.

I use a Terror 500 and one sp212 and no problems. I ,ve done open air festivals, pubs, clubs with no problems and the usual comment is how rich, big, huge, loud the sound is.What I,ve heard through the monitors when I,m in the PA is amazing DI,d from the head, they are fixed now, When your in the PA your at the mercy of the sound man I,m afraid, don,t like what they are doing -slap em about a bit, although most of them are struggling to tame geetards wall of sound , drummers wanting more kick and vocalists wanting a bit more reverb. I actually like the sp212 cabs and I used to use 8x10 ampig stack.I would not go back to that big stuff. If you would like to donate your sp212 to a good caring home I will cherish it and look after it and gig it at least twice a week. I have a powered speaker with a 15" and use as a monitor for the drummer now. When I play pubs and clubs I have no PA support and never struggle for oooomph.I,ve stood in the middle of the room while my mate ws having a go and was amazed at how loud and good sounding it was out front . I have noticed that it fills out the sound if you turn it up a bit ,10.30 to 11 0clock on the volume and 10.00,10.30 on the gain and it just fills up but it,s loud at that.Turn it up a bit more and it,s seriously loud and full but not boomy Well done being no longer a newbie. Sp212 cabs are like marmite along with Ricks, thunderbirds which are amongst the basses I use n I love Marmite as well on toast-mmmmm

Orange Terror Bass and a sp212 cab-job done
-
I,m not usually a wood on show lover ,I prefer solid colours but those walnut Rics just look fabulous. Next thing how do I fund this and yes I would have a hipshot bridge on it right away. I,m 15 years in with my current Ric and hipshot.Build quality and finish is second to none or I struck out lucky twice,my old 4001 was the same but the 4003 is a better bass.
-
Orange Terror Bass, never had a problem since
-
Sounds glorious. Gigged mine last night and it was fabulous
-
I wonder if walnut would be an option ?,never heard of it being used on a fretboard but there are some stunning gunstocks made from this.
-
They are good. If I turned up with your rig I think the rest of the band would start crying hystericaly-oh joy. 500 and a sp212 has them quaking-1000 and 2 4x10,s- they would need councilling he say,s with a manic glint in his eyes. Remember the ear plugs.

I wish he,d do some bass lessons on youtube. Rock n roll is awesome as well and loads of other tracks as well. Get worried geetar widdlers.
-
hiho, they are great basses. I got a SUB in 2003 to see if I could live with a MM with the view to upgrade later on. Still got the SUB.I tried a classic stingray back to back with my SUB when I was trying out amp s and cabs and they both sounded the same to me. Active preamp can be harsh if your heavy handed but once you suss it out they are very good.
-
Musicman SUB the American one. Job done.
-
They were always overpriced on here. You get better deals on chinese sites. Like to see him try to sue them in China Oh and by the way I,ve still got a hipshot bridge fitted.Shock-horror -fancy that, trying to give yourself an easy life. Ban stays in my book, pity other people didn,t/don,t feel the same. Right I,m putting my fire retardent suit on now and helmet.

BDI21 ,OBT 500,SP212 cab-good to go, oh and a tuner. I play a range of tunes and it does the job no problem, and it,s loud and thumps.
