  1. I reckon that would make even a non believer like me attend church I love the music that happens at your churches, my folks are Orthodox, so just three old men chanting is all we got, possibly why I hated church. Have a great time and make an awesome memory Tom And remind Paul that he still has lots of fans down under too
  2. thanks Grangur , my knowledge is scratchy, thought it may be a cause
  3. Bouncer: Sorry sir, you can't come in with that violin case Me: But I have a machine gun in there, I swear it's not a violin Bouncer: In that case, enter
  4. If you have to hide bass purchases from your significant other, walk out with an empty case saying you're taking a bass to the tech to look at. Come home with that new bass you wanted that she who must be obeyed had denied you
  5. a well known guitarist in my city used to do this all through the 80s and 90s all over Australia hehe. Genius
  6. YES because Geezer created Bassically / N.I.B
  7. bummer, it's harder to isolate the fault when it only occurs now and then. Just had a thought, check the bridge ground wire is in good contact with the bridge, this is often overlooked. Even if you take it to a tech they may not find it, in which case a rewire would be in order. Or buy a new loaded control plate/ pickguard?
  8. wait for the new strings to see if it was an issue with the E string itself
  9. so he cant hear the bass in Who Live at Leeds? Or any Rush or Led Zeppelin songs? dude isn't even an adequate bassist. What a sad #$%@ he is
  10. it's disgraceful that they bill it as "Roy Orbison Live" should be put to a stop by consumer affairs, fair dinkum. False and misleading advertising.
  11. If fixing the jack didn't eliminate it then it must be further inside, ie pot or pickup wiring perhaps. Oh, and it helps when explaining to others to use the correct terminology. Your bass has an OUTPUT jack, you amp has an INPUT jack
  12. don't get me wrong, I've heard some very decent recordings of original music done entirely in GB, just making the point DAWs can do a LOT more
  13. "no plans for any other showing or release of this footage" umm yeah, right, I'll bet anything it will be out on DVD soon......
  14. since they banned smoking indoors years ago, I removed the ashtrays, no need for them None of my 3 Fenders came with them
  15. anyone who thinks garageband is the same as a fully featured DAW has not used a fully featured DAW IMHO YMMV etc etc
  16. HEHE this is my fave rock n roll photo of all time actually, the way the system avoided feedback was pure genius. IIRC he used 2 mics on everything with phase reverse on one of them to eliminate feedback? or sumfink like dat, three mics maybe?
  17. Reaper DAW and a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 will get you there for bugger all money. With the added bonus of our very own Focusrite guru, SiBob if you get stuck, but you won't. Reaper has great user vids and forum
  18. tell the BL that there is a very good reason that he is the ONLY PERSON IN ROCK AND ROLL HISTORY to have a PA at the BACK of the STAGE. Explain the principle of feedback to him. A PA speaker's job is to project music to the AUDIENCE, foldback speakers are used for on stage monitoring. Seriously, insist on a sound engineer to run sound from now on.
  19. of course it matters! Probably moreso in a band than in anything else. We are talking about a singer, a frontperson, that (possibly) looks like a woman but (possibly) sings like a man. Of course that matters. What songs are the band gonna play, female or male vocal based? Will the singer have a man's or woman's voice? it matters, jeebus you can't play bass in a Beatles tribute band unless you are left handed, so yes, appearances matter in music I worked with two men that trangenderred into women, with a year off work during the process. It is very hard to see them as a woman when you've worked closely with them as a man, it just IS. Different to meeting a trans person for the first time, it's much easier.
  20. cool.Do you get a cut of drinks sales? sounds like a great way to go, I only wish we had the following to do this, maybe in a year.
  21. I didn't lose a thing, you, on the other hand, are a troll
  22. typical, JUST enough room for the bassist to stand in one spot all night, in front of his amp
  23. good luck as far as I knew, EVERY gig is a self promoted show. Nobody else does it for you unless you pay them
  24. coz the money notes are all above the 7th fret.....
