  1. sorry to hear of your drummer's diagnosis, man that is a tough one. Hope you find the TAB, or else wing it, you HAVE to play it one way or another.
  2. thanks Blue, I never would have guessed seeing as you can't smoke inside anywhere these days it was in jest
  3. a cheap condensor might not handle the bass frequencies too well. You'll soon know, best of luck
  4. play around with that tone knob, it really IS magical
  5. SX Jazz bass Standard. Awesome thin neck on this cheap bass. $299 Aus which would be around 120-180 Euros? Really really good player. Even the pups are keepers.
  6. as others have said, it often falls to the bass player to keep the drummer in check, timing wise. A drummer that can't keep time is not really a drummer. My first drummer, in two bands was woeful. As soon as I jammed with a real drummer I could suddenly spend my energies playing what I wanted to play and not having to constantly nudge the drummer
  7. you had me going there for a minute, Lesbian, something Gay, something....
  8. "the customer is always right" does NOT apply to rock n roll, ever
  9. awesome, concise and easy to follow, thank you SO MUCH MATE

A big thank you to all you mods for making this such a great forum :0
  11. So I guess pulling on a bong midsong is deemed unacceptable these days?
  12. SIX years and only 2 EPs of originals? are you a cover band or originals band, or a cover band that wishes it was original? Sounds like an identity crisis move on, you will find others, if you look for them
  13. You can't give prizes and awards for songs. Music is ART, not SPORT !
  14. the 7 bands I'm sharing the bill with on Saturday night gonna be 40 degrees Celcius..........I'm bussing it in as backline is supplied, so I can drink lots of err fluids, for hydration.....
  15. SX Standard Jazz bass $299 AU about 150 pounds a slimmer neck than any of my Fenders, both Am Stnd and Mex Tuners hold well enough. Pickups are serviceable, even the original strings are still on it:)
  16. Heaven - Ramble On JPJ magic Hell - Seinfeld theme....it's not even a bass !
  17. Buzzy, age is a number, that's all I'm 56 and back playing in 2 original bands after a 20 year break. I'm not the oldest in our band, drummer is 65 and getting better
  18. It's not that the UK is different, Blue. It is that the USA is different. I understand why, tips are included in the wage scale of many underpaid workers. this is crazy, pay them what they are worth Then we pay whatever the menu says the price is. easy peasy. You are shocked when foreigners don't understand that waitresses expect a 20% tip. When we go to a restaurant, any tip we give is voluntary. If the waiter was unpleasant , they get nothing. If they were awesome, they get 20%. IF they deserved it.
  19. a laptop backpack is what I use. Lots of seperate sections and compartments. Easily keeps leads, power cables etc within easy reach tangle free. Lots of velcro'd pouches for tools etc. Flat section for setlists etc.
  20. the bass fly rig has a clean boost too, use it. you can select it before or after the sansamp module. Use it before for that extra dirt. works for me. or, buy the Ampeg SCR DI, I love mine. Love my fly rig too, it's always a dilemma which one to use lol
  21. Dang, Ive used the EBS cables for a couple of years with no issues, only at home though. but I'm about to use a board live in one band and I bet I get noise problems in the venues we will be playing.
  22. Tech 21 Bass Fly Rig.- DI, Comp, Sansamp, Chorus, Octaver, tuner,
  23. about every third note. I use the pinky more than the ring finger coz it stretches farther out, obviously. You have to start using it a lot to build strength. Then it feels natural.
  24. A Radial J48 is an awesome DI, better than my pre amp DIs the MXR M80, B7K, BDDI, Ampeg SCR DI and a few others I've tried. Killer tone. Punchy.
