we do one song in drop D. I stopped downtuning, not worth it for one song, I just play the D on the 10th fret E string or 5th fret A string, songwriter hasn't noticed

we play originals in a dead live music scene, there won't be any clashes of bookings, besides, I'll be booking for both bands lol.

I'm in two originals bands which fulfills my creative needs. But I also wanted to find a covers band that would be with fun people, style of music doesn't matter too much, I could play the blues, Led Zep covers, even country without stressing. Last night at a gig, there at the table in front of me were the drummer and guitarist from a one gig only Rocky Horror band we formed around 1990 to play at a Miss Australia quest fundraiser that two entrants asked us to do . We had Brad and Janet singing, Brad in his Y fronts, how brave. Sax, and keys. Great band ,we learnt the whole songlist, played that after showing the movie. Easily the best bunch of musos I had the pleasure to play with. Hadn't seen these 2 guys since then. Anyhow, they sked me to join their band :). That fills my covers needs for now.I didn't even ask what songs they do, they have 2 female singers so no doubt it will be stuff I haven't played before, perfect So, I'm in three bands now hehe

write and record your songs. One day, if you have the time, form a band to play YOUR songs. All the very best wishes for your daughter and to you and your wife. -

1 to say 'remember when the anti-theft device on cars was to remove the distributor cap and lock it in the boot?".......OK, that'd be ME -
Music stands - are they as common as I think?

It took me a long time to memorise our 14 originals, but that was mainly because our songwriter uses lots of different chords and chord types in each song. Whilst I was trying to come up with good basslines, it helped to have the chords in front of me so I could play the right chord tones for each chord. Once I had come up with a bassline I was happy with it became easier to memorise them. I still improvise a lot at gigs, keeps it interesting and I memorised the structure, and so far so good, no mistakes after 3 gigs. -
hehe funny but sad, coz we all know it'll happen. I bet the singer doesn't own a mic either

I don't mind smaller companies copying a bass, as long as their own label is on it. People putting Fender logos on Squires is wrong, especially if they try to pass it off as a Fender. If you want a Fender, buy a Fender.

I only count at gigs one hotty....two hotties....... OK I exaggerated, we never get two hotties

turn your amp up so it's too loud if you dig in. Now play fast. You'll soon train your muscles to play quickly and quietly
-
MarkBass sell a gig bag for every one of their amps. front and back panels zip open. It has air vents where the amp has them. Handle and shoulder straps. I have one for my LM250

I found a pack of different sized self adhesive clear rubber feet for things like dvd players etc. The medium sized square ones make perfect thumbrests. I have three of them on my pbass in the three main spots I use, near the neck, over the first pup, between the two pups. They are clear so don't show. Had em on for over a year, and we get 44 degree summers here and they haven't budged. non residue if you do remove them, I tested them.

as long as an amp is small enough to fit in a gig bag it's small enough. The elf is ridiculously small, but you are gonna sit it on top of a speaker cab which is much much bigger........the elf is unnecessarily tiny.
-
Dog-gone it, enough with the puns, it's a bit ruff have you tried the amp through woofers ?
-
The ELF crams all the parts of an amp 3 times it's size with a tiny fan and you wonder why it's hot? Physics. get a little desk fan and point it at it
-
only three, in a six week period recently. But they were my first gigs since 1995 why did I leave it so long? Enjoyed it so much I reformed my old originals psych-punk band from 1986 too 2018 is gonna be all about FUN

Looks like there's a new version of mine. I have the Q2 HD and the new version i think is the Q2N HD. I find the Q2 HD so simple to just put somewhere with half decent view of the band and it has an auto volume control and all just works dead easy. Does run thru batteries right enough. Typically 2 hrs out of 2 duracell AA's Dave I run my Q2HD on USB power with one of those USB powerbank thingies you're welcome

wow never thought I'd hear a worse solo than the Edge's on the live Party Girl ep

their pricing is good enough that it warrants shipping to Australia and STILL be cheaper than buying local #ripoffretailers

If you're getting good money, hiring a good sound engineer is the best way to sweeten your FOH sound -
play em or not, why would you think I care what you do?

a man with a speach impediment is in the front row of a Stevie Wonder concert. After a while he yells out, "play a jazz chord" so Stevie plays a Diminished chord No no, play a jazz chord so Stevie played an Augmented chord no , no says the man, "a jazz chord, to say, I ruv you"

exactly all of the above. Don't waste $550 on an ABG you'll need an amp, might as well use your EB. If people say "but you're not unplugged" reply "neither was anyone on MTV Unplugged" lol
