yeah I love mine. I also love my Tech 21 Bass Boost Chorus, but it takes up double the space. I'm currently using the Tech 21 Bass Fly Rig which has a useable chorus built in. But the MXR has more useable sounds and does the flanger quite well too.
Thanks guys. He admits he's not a great singer but he's a great bloke & makes up for it with his stage presence.
lot's of great blokes who can't sing have ruined bands filled with great players. A bad singer = a bad band. good blokes don't cut it. ditch him or forever be playing crappy dive bars for tips.

leaving the PG in the sun will warp it

I like my originals band. Love the guys. Love the songs. Love my basses and amps. Playing in an empty room for no money? not looking forward to it. Can't even talk to the 'promoter" as it's all done via FB now, no human contact. hmmmpf First gig after a 20 year break and the girl promoter can't even finalise any details. No idea if we are the 1st band or the 5th. no idea of starting times, backline equipment, PA, mixer, or even which room in the pub we are playing. My bandmate booked us in BEFORE finding out any details. I said I'm just a hired bassist this time around. Before I did everything, booked the gig, setup the PA, got paid etc. No longer. Playing live is not gonna be fun.

there is no longer any ettiquette. Bands now just do what they want to do. They will mess with other bands' mix, steal their gear, badmouth the other bands. it's the way of the world.

I like mine, from the manual INTENSITY knob controls the overall amount of modulation in CHORUS mode and regeneration in FLANGER mode. link to the manual https://www.jimdunlop.com/text/content/pdp/manuals/M83.pdf

A new MIM P bass is a very sweet thing, if you get a chance to try a few out I'm sure you will find the one. My 2013 MIM P is very close to my 2013 Am Std

Sennheiser HD201s are nice and cheap, the HD202s have slightly boosted bass response if that helps

the whole industry is dying. No live music in pubs. No one buys music these days, cept for dinosaurs like me.Existing artists only make money by touring and charging $200 a seat minimum. yet simpletons like me think someone somewhere wants to hear his original music lol At least recording at home is now at studio quality almost, too bad no one will ever hear it
-
lol no the lines aren't hard.....when you look at the tab or notation 40 years later...... but he wrote them from nothing, THAT is the talent, not copying it later and thinking it's simple.
Neck pick up full on...bridge pick up just on were you can hear it about 3 or 4.....tone on full.....as i like a warm wooley Bass tone and obviously were you play i would anchor thumb over neck pick up just my preference.....then again i like the Jaco sound over bridge pick up but don't find playing as comfortable Nowadays i play a Fender Precision so easier for my type of sound.
lol you didn't even read the OP past the first word ,to quote "Ok. This isnt about whether you prefer your pick-up volumes at 100% and your tone at 50%. I am interested in where you like the white position indicator to be when it is in the full-on position." for the record I like em pointing up too

it's karma the manufacturer closes down his factory in the US/UK/Germany/Australia and gets them made in China where there are no labour laws, workers are getting peanuts. This Chinese factory has no regard for intellectual property and makes forgeries of the exact same product under a 'no name'. kinda serves the bastards right

you wouldn't want to lose a cable somewhere in your pedal 'chain' (see what I did there?) halfway thru a gig. How are you going to find the culprit? Unscrew all the pedals so you can see which connector went bad? good luck. not practicle for the working musician, good for bedroom players only. There is a reason why 99 billion flies eat sh!t......also for why most working musos use velcro.....

A pub in the very heart of our city was the best for new bands,we played there every month. Then they built high rise apartments right behind the pub and wanted them to ban live music. Of course the music scene were outraged, we were preparing to take them to court. Then they offered the owners of the pub the top apartment. The band courtyard is now glassed in and bands have to turn right down ANYone can be bought, if the price....is RIGHT

I say if it's two cover bands, play equal time. If they are original, you should only play for 30 mins and they should play for 90 minutes. If the headline is an original band, no one will want to hear covers other than what the DJ or sound guy play from their laptop not putting down cover bands, but a crowd wanting to see original music will not want to hear covers, usually. At least where I am

both my mim and am std Ps from 2013 have slim necks, a joy to play
-
exactly the same as my 2013 P Fender CS60s pickups, possibly the best pups in decades. Concensus seems to say the 2010 to 2016 Am Stnds are the best ever, I can't rgue with that.

I'm thinking of mastering my band's recordings in mono, seriously. old is good again, vinyl is back

Take care when choosing a venue for a band meeting
bazzbass replied to Stylon Pilson's topic in General Discussion
similat to Jamie Fox's murder consultant role in Horrible Bosses, I will be your band meeting facilitator. From now on ALL your band meetings will be in STRIP CLUBS problem solved. That'll be ten grand please -
, but there was nowhere else to go.
I see what you did there hehe

Classic Rock in pubs, is it compulsory?
bazzbass replied to SisterAbdullahX's topic in General Discussion
Simply that. Does anyone on here play pubs but not play the same old tired Classic Rock covers? Been finding that my usual staple of function gigs has steadily dwindled over the last few years to the point where I'm getting fewer than ten a year and could quite fancy packing them in altogether and just finding a nice local pub band to play for the enjoyment of it rather than having to entertain drunken wedding guests. However, the prospect of having to go and play all the standard rock tunes makes me think I'd probably just rather sell all my gear and pack in altogether! Does anyone play covers that aren't well known at all and still get a favourable response from the audience and get rebooked? Seems to me that, even if you don't play the rock stuff you still have to play well known songs, whatever the style of music you play, and that just bores me. Also, all the other bands that play that style of music play the same tunes!
sounds like you are ready to join a real band, playing your own music. nuthin like it -
the tree might be angled, but I bet the bottom of those strings at the tree are level hehe
Pretty much half the price too.
amazing how much you save when you don't have to research and develop it if everyone bought these copies, Tech21 would go bust, then what will they copy? Luckily they sell enough to keep going hehe not having a go at anyone buying a bargain, I certainly have with Joyo pedal boards and power supplies, just making a point. I managed to snag a fly rig at nearly half price, used from a distributor and it really is nice, hope this one is as good for you.
