  1. Morning. Just wanted to drop a +1 review of BassBros on here. I bought a '75 AVRI jazz bass from Will on Saturday and the process couldn't have been better. Great communication throughout the week to arrange the appointment, and when I got there, the basses I had mentioned I was interested in were laid out ready to try through a really nice TC / Vanderklay rig. Will was really kind, warm and accommodating, making cups of tea, having a proper chat about what we loved about jazz basses. I tried three different AVRIs out, two in natural and one in 3TSB, and I left a very happy customer having bought the latter - picture below I immediately went off a gigged it twice through the weekend, and I'm very happy with it! Couldn't recommend BassBros enough to anybody wanting to purchase their next instrument. Nice one Will!
  2. Have a great time! My lot The Achievers just got back from a few shows over in the Netherlands last weekend, and it was fantastic. The Dutch hospitality is amazing. Happy to help if you've got any questions on touring / carnet - shoot me a message and I'll rack my brains!
  3. Bump! Price drop from £450 to £400. Any questions please feel free to come at me. Potential trade for something Ampeg-ish??? Ta, Jack
  4. Lovely rig! Not in the game for a cabinet at the moment. GLWTS. Very nice looking Stingray you have too, sir...
  5. PRICE DROPPED to £350. FOR SALE: Markbass Little Mark Vintage. This is NOT the D2 version. This is my lovely Markbass Little Mark Vintage for sale. I am the only owner from new. I bought it new from Bass Direct in Feb. 2020. There's a link here to a comment I posted about it. Was going to get around to reviewing it, but never did. This amp has probably done around 5 - 10 small UK gigs in the time I've had it, and been with me through once weekly rehearsals. I did have the excellent Dex at Dex Audio change out the pre-amp tube to another - there was a slight buzzing coming from it originally which is now sorted. Markbass blurb / website info here. Reason for sale: I prefer my LMIII, so this is sitting around not doing very much. Link to my new / old Markbass rig here. I mentioned within this post that I preferred the sound of the old one, and I still do! So, this one is going up for sale. Comes with a Rok Sak bag, and the original box it came in when I bought it NEW from bass direct in the Feb. of 2020 (Back when we all though we'd be doing gigs...). Price doesn't include postage, but happy to post at buyer's expense. Will package it up all nice and safe with full insurance, and will likely need signing for your end. Payment: Preference is either cash on collection or bank transfer. Item is located in Stroud, Glos. People are more than welcome to come around, have a cuppa, try it out and make an informed decision in a no-pressure environment. I will upload a video shortly which shows the amp working. The amp is going through a markbass traveller 2 x 10 cabinet, and I'm using my EB Musicman StingRay which is strung with DR Pure Blues Roundwound strings. Offers: No rush to sell, but happy to listen to any sensible offers. Trades: No, ta. Any questions feel free to come at me and I will be more than happy to answer if I am able. 6. Hi Dave808. I have sent you a PM. Thanks, Jack
  7. Lovely - been having GAS for months about a fretless one of these. Only thing stopping me is Anderton's are out of stock at the moment!
  8. Really like that rig! The more I use mine, the more I like it. What bass you using through it?
  9. Best purchase of the year for me would be my Markbass rig - pic below. Really nice sounding rig, complete with touring case for shows with the band so very convenient. Cons - bit on the heavy side when cased, but band members don't seem to annoyed by it... Fortunately don't seem to have made a bad purchase this year
  10. Still for sale. Would love to see this go to a loving home. Also, I'd love to buy a Stingray!
  11. Yes, these are great festivals and run very, very well. We've gigged with a few of the names there, Greg Coulson and The Milk Men and they're both fab acts. Me and my bunch are doing the one in Torquay next year Hope you have a fab time - it sounds like you will.
  12. Hi all, I've owned my P bass since early 2019, and it's had the same set of flats on it since forever. This weekend I decided to change them to some DR Sunbeams ahead of 3x gigs on the bounce... Wow what a difference! Everything everyone up above is saying - zing, bottom end for days, growliness... Through a markbass rig with a little drive from the SansAmp, I couldn't have been happier. PLUS the festival backline on Sat. was an Ampeg SVT with matching 8x10 - heaven Think I'll be sticking with rounds for a while now.
  13. For sale is my 2020 Barefaced Super Compact bass cab. Background: I bought this in Feb. 2020 after buying a mark-bass head to pair with it. It's essentially brand new. It comes with a fitted Barefaced branded & fitted cover which is really nice. It's the version with the silver cloth grill which is marginally more expensive. I have done one garden party with it, and also took it to Silverstone Moto GP weekend with The Achievers, but that's about it. Otherwise, it's sitting in my house doing nothing expect being a very expensive practice rig. I don't need it as I've still got my old reliable Rumble 500 which I use as a back-up. Link to where I posted about my new cab! The Cab: Great sounding 1 x 12XN driver. Bought late 2019 and delivered from Barefaced to me in Feb. 2020. I am the only owner. Reason for selling: I've gone to the Markbass side of things... Don't tell Alex at Barefaced. Link to my post about my new Markbass rig! Price: Open to sensible offers or negotiation. No low-ballers though please! Trades: No thank you. Location: Stroud, Glos. Happy for any potential buyers to come and try it out, feel free to bring an amp with you or I've got a Markbass head here. Thanks for looking, any questions please either reply below or private message me and I'll do my best to get back to you as quickly as I can. Cheers-ta-nice one. EDIT: Just realised Mrs. Stroud_Bass is in the background of the first pic. Needless to say, she's extra! Jack
  14. Yes I bought it from eBay. The pics are from the same ad. Sent the seller a private message and negotiated a price and arranged collection at a convenient meet up point. Really nice chap tbh- pleasure to do business with them. I’m not sure if they’re on BassChat.
  15. Yep it certainly sounds good from the off. Looking forward to trying the Stingray through it 👍
