1. +1 some are better than others. I now use the B3 for the less used effects and have my common ones as stand alone. To me it works as a good compromise between quality and not carrying a board that is the size of New Guinea.
 2. I shimmed one up with a piece of aluminium plate under the bridge. It's barely noticeable and you wouldn't spot it unless you were looking.
 3. Arias must be the bargains of the year at the moment, so much there for less than £100. I have a similar model and it knocks spots off stuff costing four or five times as much.
 4. I am a mod on a motoring forum and this is becoming scarily common, join one minute then instantly post 'what's this worth, I think it's worth £x' with x being half the real value, then wait for people to pm them thinking they are getting a bargain and instead they get scammed, or as in here replying to wanted ads in a similar manner. Some weeks we have stopped 20-30, so at least it seems the music forums aren't as badly hit for the moment and long may that continue.
 5.
Yes, mine is an electro with a Fishman system. I'd expect it to anyway as piezo pickups work on vibration rather than the material that the string is made from.
Thanks :-)
 6.
Slightly related to the topic, 'the other way round', has anyone tried the Nickel Bronze Acoustic Guitar strings from D'Addario? These: http://daddario.com/DADProductFamily.Page?ActiveID=3768&familyid=150 I've got them on my Faith acoustic here. They are (of course) Nickel outer wrap rather than the all familiar Bronze acoustic strings. I gotta say, I *really* like them.
Do you know if they work well with the pickups on electro acoustics? I have been after some decent strings for mine.
 7.
Won't the pedalboard just roll around the stage when you tread on a pedal?
I think it's just the case that has wheels ;-)
 8. Jeez Andy, my heart was in my mouth for a minute until I read the last line. Terrible fir the guy affected and I will keep an eye open locally but glad it's not you mate.
 9.
Get much work as a luthier??
Funny you should mention that, I did fix a split across the body of an EB3 but I didn't use superglue and gaffer tape (or did I? ;-) )
 10. I think a certain amount is self inflicted. There is a certain mindset where some people look down their noses at 'budget' brands, so there is a trend of emperors new clothes pricing to ensure the product is seen as 'worthy'.
 11. Gaffer tape and superglue and it'll be fine (possibly, or possibly not).
 12. A few from the past, Pond were great at the time but not sure they have aged well. Bivouac were amazing live but disappeared without a trace. And Dead slow children were also awesome live but never managed a single release as far as I know.
 13. I must have been unlucky, communication was poor throughout, it took three weeks from payment to delivery. There was no communication for well over a week after payment was sent, it took several requests for updates to get any info as to what was happening and then best part of another two weeks before it arrived. When it did arrive it was exactly as described and I can't fault that aspect.
 14. Bought a pedal from Skb558, superb comms from start to finish. A pleasure to deal with.
 15. Husker Du or sugar, but would be happy with Therapy? As well.
 16.
Not as sick looking as some of the basses I see here. At least the rusty looking vw doesn't get nicked.
Not by anyone who can see anyway.
 17.
I don't see the point. It's like buying a mediocre priced car then ran sand paper and wire brush through it and knock the bonnet and wheels here and there!
Google 'rat look vw' but have a sick bag ready......
 18.
Fair enough. Not a fan of their latest stuff either but always see them live.
They are still one of my favourite live bands. They were the first big band I ever saw live. It was at the assembly rooms in Derby and you were, supposed to be 16 to get in unaccompanied, I was 14 and a bit nervous about getting caught. I had bought the ticket from way ahead in Derby (best record shop in the world imho) and the guy had told me to just tell them my birth date and age if they asked and I would be ok. The guy on the door asked my age and I replied 16 and gave my birthday, to which he replied 'but wouldn't that make you 17?'. All I could think of to say was 'oh yeah, I forgot my last birthday' he looked down his nose at me and waved me past. It was an amazing night but my ears didn't stop ringing for nearly a week.
 19.
How about Piece of Mind?
It's ok, but not up there with the best, come to think of it I can't remember when I last listened to it either. Somewhere in time is also a bit up and down. I guess it's those mid years where I think they lost a bit of direction. I can't think of a track I don't love on the first two albums, similar on seventh son, number of the beast starts wobbly with invaders and then is brilliant. I can't really comment on the latest stuff as I haven't really followed them for a while.
 20.
I know what you're saying but it was followed by their longest tour ever. Have you listened to the isolated bass tracks from Powerslave? I found the sound of the bass extremely good.
I can see where you are coming from but as a whole I would just never reach for it on the shelf. I am a bit biased as I love PDs voice so keep being drawn to the first two albums, but then number of the beast and seventh son take some beating. Just nothing from Powerslave shouts out enough I guess.
 21. I just run a strong tune over the top until it stops, for me Peaches by the Stranglers sorts anything.
 22. Not sure what it is but I like it, very cool sound.
 23.
It's rehearsal, it's only available to us!

it's not a rehearsal if the result is going online for all to hear. It is the most important "gig" you may play for a while. Kill it ! best of luck
;-)
 24.
Someone asked us if we could play some Easter songs once - *blank look* ummm
Something by the Jesus Lizard perhaps?
