I was just outside of Etten Leur, I was doing a master jointly with the University of West Brabant and Gist Brocades, hence the move to Delft. Lovely part of the world. I was there 92 to 93 and never overtook on the right (but did once go around a roundabout the wrong way).

Welcome! Where are you in the Netherlands? I spent a very happy time living near Breda and in Delft in the 90s.

Not sure how this has become Mould V Clapton (Mould IS better for the record, proven fact as he isn’t called Eric - ok, Bob is only marginally better). The question was what artist has managed to keep fresh and change output continually. Hence my response of Mr Mould. Copper Blue and Beaster are utterly perfect to me, Black sheets of Rain a masterpiece in misery and his Husker Du output of interest in a hippy sort of way. Apart from his very distinctive voice his style has migrated and evolved through so many genres (though yet to release a Jazz or Rap album as far as I know) so much that it’s hard to define what is ‘mouldesque’ in style. I would disagree with regards to influence, but that may be an age thing. Clapton was utterly irrelevant to most new bands by the late 80s early 90s, Mould is still listed as influential on several new bands I listen to, but in twenty years? That is time moving on.

You have never heard of Bob Mould? Jeez, how can you go though life without coming across Bob Mould? Genuinely gobsmacked at that on a (bass) Guitar forum.
-
Bob Mould perhaps? Such a wide range of styles and genres covered. You just never know what will come next.

Love cream, anything after is very meh, as a kid in the late 70s early 80s he was just another irrelevant ‘old man’ (that makes me laugh now in my late 40s) singing stuff that didn’t connect with me. Look back, I think not dying was his worst career move. Edit - the last bit is tongue in cheek in case anyone thinks otherwise, death always seems a good career booster for musicians

Popping sound when unplugging from Boss TU3

I had a pulsing thump with a tuner when it was powering up (switching on Jack as opposed to just switching on when already powered)no idea why but I just waited a few seconds before turning the amp on. -

Sounds good. I can be around any day, Tuesday is slightly trickier as I need to drop my Capri off for its MoT and collect it later but that will only be a few minutes each time. -
It wasn’t cheap, about £70-80 I think, but that’s peanuts in the grand scheme of things music wise. Check out some of the YouTube videos and you will get a sense of what they are like. The top end is like a normal harp but the bottom end has a unique resonant sound that is just gorgeous.

I am still dabbling. I bought a Hohner Thunderbird low C. The tone makes me go weak at the knees.

Donate to a local school/ young band/ budding bass player? Or buy a corsa and stick it in the boot and buy a baseball cap to wear backwards.

Auditioned for a guitarist and it's too close to call

‘Bring visually’? So it comes down to who you fancy most? Being serious, personality every time, we went with best singer in one of my bands and I have regretted it ever since. -

I am off the next couple of weeks so apart from an odd trip out I can be around pretty much anytime. -

I can’t help with transport but it could sit in Tamworth if that helps at all, 5 mins from M42, 2 mins from A5, 15 mins from M6 and 20 mins from M5 -
Orange terror, I have trace heads as well but love the orange warmth and growl (and the fact it doesn’t kill you to carry it). I have an original 1000w version but have heard the latest incarnation and they sound great too.

Best bass strap for back issues and weight distribution

I have a few from Hypnotic straps in Poland, very reasonably priced and superb quality and comfort. -
And the scrotes know everything aspect of the law, and if they don’t their solicitor will tell them. My Nephew is a lawyer for criminal cases, I have had a few discussions with him and asked how he deals with people he knows are guilty and he says he will still try and get them off as it’s his ‘job to do so’. I asked what he would do if it was a rape or murder and he knew they were guilty and he said he would do the same - try every trick to get them off as they are his client. How the hell you sleep at night knowing you are letting a guilty person like that walk the streets to potentially do it again I will never know. He reckons he knows 99% of the time whether they really did it or not.

Just looked at your prices and they seem more than reasonable! Bordering on bargain I would say. Wish I had known about you when we were looking to move one.

We were looking for a piano for my daughter a couple of years ago, a relative had one they didn’t need and was happy for us to have it for free. When we looked into the cost of moving it and getting it tuned we ended up going for a good quality keyboard instead. There always seem to be a few on my local musical for sale Facebook group for not a lot. I think the ideas above about listing on a cheap day and contacting local dealers are sound, but be prepared for eBay morons to bid before they have looked into transport costs (we were quoted £350 to move one 20 miles and have it retuned, one guy wanted £600 just to move it!) Good luck!

Welcome! You have come to the right place. So much experience on here for all aspects of bass playing.

A very good friend of mine is the most amazing talented musician I have ever met. Sadly he suffers from horrendous pre gig nerves so virtually never plays live. His recorded stuff is truly stunning but he just hates performing so doesn’t do it. I am sure we have all been to gigs expecting a great time and been met with a charisma vacuum that deflates the whole experience, and on the opposite side, those gigs where the energy is amazing and the music is almost secondary.
