  1. I have never done this, well until tonight that is after reading this thread and it feels good!
  2. It’s a great offer and can make a big difference, a previous donation of Beedster’s is doing sterling service helping kids with disabilities learn bass and build their self esteem. Hopefully this one can make an equally good impact somewhere. Not on the same scale as the offers above but I would be happy to supply a new set of strings for the good cause.
  3. I assume you are referring to the amp ad I put up, amazingly despite asking ‘what’s good for metal?’ he only got sensible replies. I was quite disappointed.
  4. We left the guitarist once, both myself and the drummer thought he was going with the other one. I had his kit as we were doing another gig the next day but the drummer lives closer to him. We did go back and get him though.
  5. I have seen a rather chunky local bass player stand on his for pretty much an entire song at a recent event. The cab took it no problem but no way would I risk that with mine. But with that in mind I wouldn’t imagine the amp would pose any risk at all.
  6. Just shows computers know jack stinky poo about music.......
  7. I do a 5-10 minutes warm up, just noodling or messing about with pedals and sounds. Then around 20-40 minutes on new stuff for the two bands or just something that 8nterestes me on the rare occasions there isn’t anything new to learn. Then another 20 minutes on songs on the sets to keep them fresh. I do that at least 6 nights a week but usually 7. I have only been playing a couple of years though so still learning.
  8. I couldn’t get on with the mojomojo either and it went quick. I now have a soul food which I love and have now added a hot wax as well, not the cheapest but the twin channels which can be piggybacked is a real bonus.
  9. All were worth a watch, I think I enjoyed the guitar one the most, my wife liked the bass one better but I do like a good pedal.........
  10. More likely as there is nothing to hold the pin in place.
  11. Hypnotic straps from Poland are fantastic quality and cheaper than a lot of the alternatives, wide range of styles. I have five of them.
  12. That happened to one of mine, according to Hercules it was a dodgy batch and they replaced mine free of charge. Withnthe way they work there is only stress on that when you are pressing the lever and the weight of the bass would act on the pin if it did go randomly so I doubt there would be much chance at all of it catastrophically failing and I have never heard of one doing. I replaced the mechanism on my duff one with a bolt after drilling through. It doesn’t fold down now but won’t be going anywhere either.
  13. I had an Ibanez TMB short scale and that was fantastic. Very versatile and not a lot of money to invest in case it’s not for you.
  14. Indeed, so will be interesting to see what bun fight ensues when someone suggests something. It’s not my ad by the way in case anyone was thinking it was.
  15. I didn’t want to put names on as it’s a closed group for bass gear sales/ trades so I had to zoom in to remove the names. Full text was - ‘Looking into getting a bass head for home use and also for when I get back into a band. Predominantly play metal music, suggestions on what I should be looking at?’ You just know it will turn into a poofest but the mods on there are pretty sharp to anyone getting silly.
  16. So this came up on a Facebook group I am on, I have avoided showing anyone’s name for obvious reason but can’t wait to see some of the replies...........
  17. Yup 100% sure but the bride is amazingly laid back, no seating plan, no sit down meal, no speeches, no first dance. We asked if she had a preferred colour or style and the response was ‘don’t turn up in Orange, otherwise I don’t care’. I said jokingly that it would look odd if we were in jeans and a T shirt and she said she was more than happy with that as long as we were comfortable (We do know her a bit, so she isn’t a complete stranger). Really not sure what to go with.
  18. It’s not because we don’t want to mistaken for waiters, it’s because suits are bloody awful at the best of times. The idea of a few hours done up like that playing doesn’t appeal. The bride and groom aren’t interested in what we wear but I think we need to look like ‘the band’ just not quite sure how to do that if not smart.
  19. The groom is a tree surgeon so I thought lumberjack shirts would be appropriate 🙂
  20. Got our first ever wedding booking for later this year, no idea what to wear. Lead guitarist wants full on suits, no one else does.
  21. I only do BV but you have hit the nail on the head. The lead guitarist/ vocalist on one of my bands can’t get the idea that some songs I can play and sing on are more complicated on paper than others that I can’t sing on but it’s the rhythm more than complexity that nobbles me.
  22. The Diagrams are all clear and colour coded anyway so no German needed. I have removed the link as it’s obviously no use to you.
  23. Might be better to ask for a PM rather than stick your mobile number up, just to be on the safe side......
