  1. Played one in a shop once, took about a nanosecond to realise it was bloody awful.
  2. If you look at a lot of the longest lived bands there is often one genius and a few easy going people who realise they are on to a good thing. Most of those bands where you get multiple talents seem to self destruct sooner or later.
  3. COVID did me a massive favour with a band I was in, three of us mates and a mate of a mate. Well the mate of a mate turned out to be a complete control freak and a bloody nightmare. My two other mates are so easy going they didn’t want to be the ones to say anything so it was down to me. Then COVID happened and we accidentally forgot to mention the band to her after and she never got back in touch so result!
  4. I have one gathering dust (not that model but similar) that I would happily trade for beer and a bottle of something nice. I used it loads at first but it’s lived in a bag under the bed for the last couple of years. I just noodle on my Jazz now.
  5. A lot of people knock them down but they get up again………..
  6. None that I saw did for certain. I think the highest was about £2400 iirc. That doesn’t mean they can’t make that money, but I didn’t see any that did.
  7. I was looking at these last year and they mostly seemed around the £1.5-2k mark. Some were asking £4K+ but couldn’t see any selling at that money. There aren’t many RD’s around so I think the prices are a lot more variable than more common stuff.
  8. 100% this ^^^^ Instant turn off if it comes on the radio or walk out if a band plays it. I genuinely hate it.
  9. It means a gorilla scratching its ar5e then sniffing it’s finger
  10. A bit like Ferris Bueller - never had a lesson
  11. Same here, I have them in my 1000w Terror amp and they are spot on.
  12. Just bought a TC head from David, fantastic comms throughout, well packed and sent quickly as promised. Perfect seller.
  13. Played a club we didn’t realise was a front for the local Tories. Full on entitled tossers who were well pi55ed. Two threatened our lead singer at the break. Our encore that night was Billy Bragg’s which side are you on? We haven’t been back………..
  14. So many to choose from but this stands out for me: It just fits the song perfectly. Just three different notes and five notes in each phrase.
  15. Hydro dipping may be an option worth looking at.
  16. I do my own set ups. It has never needed more than a tweak of the truss rod in ten years but I am careful how they are stored.
  17. I must have played well over 2000 hours on my go to bass and I can’t see anything but minimal wear. Maybe I have a light touch, but can’t see them needing doing for years yet.
  18. Stiff Little Fingers in Brum. They still have it and then some. ‘Kin brilliant night. Support was Slim Jim Phantom Trio with ex stray cats drummer, they were not the best, technically tight but no energy for nearly all the set. They did one upbeat number and everyone was up for it, then back to the dirge. Shame.
  19. Boss gx100, over budget but well worth saving up for.
  20. Poor manufacturing to get something so simple wrong, not your fault.
  21. If it’s the Police does it count? Asking for a Friend………
  22. Boss GX100 has been an utter revelation for me this last year. I have now mothballed my pedal board and just use the GX100. So flexible and easy to use. Loads of the guitar pedals sound great on bass as you would expect, and there are bespoke bass effects as well. Chuck in the modelling options and it’s a bargain imho.
