  1. I am an engineer (chemical) and often use tight in reference to my work, to be fair it’s when describing the boss at the bar though.
  2. From my contact with you on here I know that you are a 100% genuine guy. I stopped selling on eBay after a bad experience. I now use shpock -collection only, cash in hand so much less chance of a scam. Of course here is perfect except for Ricks. And complain to eBay about the feedback, they will take it off.
  3. I have shoulder problems due to arthritis and use a strap from hypnotic straps, it’s 3” wide and very well padded. Despite my Gibson being the same weight as a boat anchor I don’t have issues.
  4. Our vocalist/ lead guitarist was George Harrison in a Beatles tribute until recently. He wore a wig, used contact lenses and they even spoke with Liverpool (ish) accents when speaking between songs or to each other.
  5. Things like this shouldn’t be allowed, it’s just too nice. Glwts
  6. I love the trace sound as well, but use the Barefaced cabs and orange terror 1000w unless it’s an easy load in. For the cost the trace wins.
  7. 0 miles, we practice at work after hours.
  8. That’s the USA, over here they are VERY different venues
  9. Welcome might be worth asking @Andyjr1515 about the routing.
  10. I have one, it is the final piece to make the system perfect for me.
  11. Thought it was unlikely, but had to ask!
  12. Weird question, but you don’t sell Capri parts by any chance as well? I know an ex Neil Diamond tribute act who is a Capri parts dealer now.
  13. When I was a kid we used to go to ‘the club’ on a Weekend. My abiding memory is of the bingo which the whole family, parents included, detested. As a 7yr old the kid the idea of standing still and not breathing for half an hour was torture. The place was a bear pit like the OP describes for performers. They were of variable quality, my favourite was a large lady who turned up with a portable tape deck with songs on a cassette, still with the original voices on and possibly taped form the radio (probably not but I like the idea). She then proceeded to murder each and every one of these songs. Halfway through the second set the batteries began to fail mid song and we had to wait for her to put four more D cells in and away she went. She was t even the worst. There were some amazing ones though but god forbid any band to be ‘a bit loud’.
  14. I have a Behringer 8500 and bass vocal range, it works incredibly well for me, especially as every other Behringer product I have come into contact with has been awful
  15. Slightly off topic but I find the DV247 website horrendous, it’s so hard to find anything on there. i haven’t used Tung oil, but have used all sorts of oils on a wide variety of woods over the year. The way I do the first coat is by finishing the prep, the doing a final rub over with very fine wire wool or 6000 grit pads then a generous wipe over with methylated spirit. Then leave for a short while and apply the oil using a very clean rag, old t shirt is ideal.
  16. Anyone for jazz?
  17. Please tell again.....
  18. Mustang Sally is THE one, I hate with an utter passion. Most Coldplay would have me quitting the band as well.
  19. I have the 1000w version and agree completely, it’s why I got it.
  20. Nope, that is to replace the standard three point Gibson style bridge. I have the same Studio model and love the bridge and have no issue getting a low string height. It’s adjustable via the grub screws like most bridges. I presume yours is bottoming out too early somehow?
  21. I thought he was blue, stop calling him Shirley.........
  22. We have done a few, good ones are a right laugh, bad ones see you play while the other bands on look on trying to pick faults with what you are doing. My favourite is admittedly run by a mate, but that aside, it really is just a turn up and play and whether you have been once or a hundred times people are supportive and friendly. In one night we have had some pretty heavy stuff and five minutes later an elderly regular doing Sinatra. It’s a broad church when done well.
  23. Fantastic mate, thanks for asking. Got a busy period (for us) of four in five weeks so good to get the first one out the way we’ll. lots of new and reworked stuff and all went well. we also finally decided on the new PA and monitors we are buying so this project will be on hold until next pay day due to the outgoings for that. At £40 delivered it alsmost seems rude not to have a bash with the one above. So now thinking the T-bird two won’t be a T- bird at all and that may end up being build 3. I have a few weeks to decide. @Andyjr1515 thanks for the heads up on the veneering. It sounds like this may not be the best one to do that on. Now wondering about doing something like a Wenge centre piece or maybe just a obscenely bright colour in true 80s style. Too many choices for someone so weak willed.
  24. I wouldn’t be too worried on the pickup holes, unless they were overly big as I could always enlarge them. I was budgeting around £50-60 for timber this time so it would be a cheap starter. Wondering whether to use one to have a play with veneering on. @Andyjr1515 or anyone other veneer experts, once the Veneer is on can you rout at the edges without it breaking up? Shame I couldn’t have made it to the midlands bash to see it done for real.
  25. Now that is a curve ball as our American neighbours would say! Probably as cheap as buying a piece of timber and with a load of the work already done. Hmmmmm, what to do............
