  1. Sadly neither of them, but thanks for the suggestions.
  2. They were with them Some other dates on the tour but it doesn’t ring a bell at all and I don’t recognise any of their songs. I thought they were a northern band as well but could be wrong on that.
  3. Nope, but thanks anyway, they were an all male group, pretty sure they were a four piece but could have been five. Definitely weren’t a trio as I distinctly remember the lead singer and he wasn’t playing as well. I have just drawn a blank trying to research it, it may have been May 93 but again I am far from sure.
  4. I know this is a long shot but here goes, I saw Therapy and Silverfish play at Rock city in the early 90s, I think 93 but could be wrong. There was a third band on the bill but I cannot for the life of me remember who it was, they were one of the darlings of NME at the time but beyond that I am lost. I have searched every source I can think,of with no luck. So I thought it was worth an ask on here in case anyone either had any knowledge of where I could find the info, or even better, was there.
  5. I saw that and just sat there shaking my head.
  6. It’s good value even at full price if you use any of the extras, I don’t think my level of playing and frequency of gigs (7 last year) really justify now but it may change in the future.
  7. That’s a big saving! I looked at that a while back but I seem to recall that it was quite expensive if you just wanted the insurance side of it. Obviously a different matter if you use their other services.
  8. Not wanting to ask any personal details, but wondering what sort of ball park figures people are paying just to insure their kit?
  9. As long as it’s a Fender or Gibson around here. If I take my Ibanez or Aria I always get one punter coming up saying I should buy a Fender/ Gibson. When I point out I have both they usually give look which says ‘why is not here then’ and walk away. It’s also amazing how many ex bass plating Trace Elliot owners there are in the average pub crowd.
  10. TE V8! Very nice.
  11. I love it, sadly it’s beyond my disposal income at this time but it is beautiful.
  12. How did you find when it was made? Was that from the serial number?
  13. It’s just for fun so whatever you want, I started with one I wasn’t at, but it doesn’t matter either way.
  14. Bargain for someone local, would be ideal as a cheap starter for a kid or a donor for bits.
  15. to be fair I have been bought two of the new acquisitions so I didn’t spend a great deal of time looking for them and another one ‘found’ me as it were. The one I am making will mostly be done at work when I get I early in the morning before I start, it’s only 20-30 minutes 2-3 times a week but it all adds up.
  16. That sounds familiar, I got down to 4 but will be back up to 7 by Christmas, then 8 when I finish the one I am building.
  17. That tour was my first experience of a big group, I was 16 and at the Assembly rooms in Derby with my then girlfriend. I was right at the front and my ears didn’t stop ringing for a few days (not good). They were supported by Wolfsbane with Blaze Bailey up front.
  18. That is how I have always taken it as well. So what would be a refusal I wonder?
  19. I have often wondered about the ‘refused insurance’ question. If you go a comparison website quite often there will be companies that won’t insure you. And when I changed my car a couple of years ago I had to change my insurance company as the one I was with wouldn’t even quote for it (they have a cut off at 10 years old for some reason). Just wondering whether either of those would count as ‘refused insurance’.
  20. For me it would be the RHCP/ Pearl Jam/ Nirvana gig just after the release of Nevermind. Some Sex pistols ones come close, but that one with such a great line up and the buzz around at the time would sell it to me.
  21. Skybone is a not half bad name skybone.
  22. But surely the exact same risks would apply to anyone going to a pub? I never set foot in pubs unless I am playing but a lot of people are regular visitors. I have never heard anyone having to declare that they visit pubs to their insurance. I am not trying to be awkward, it just seems that there is an unnecessary fear of insurance, be honest, answer their questions and I can’t see how there can be any issues.
  23. But I DON’T think it’s pertinent, YOU do, so you would need to declare, I wouldn’t. Simples ;-)
  24. But if there is no payment then they have no leg to stand on. If it’s unpaid it is a hobby, plain and simple. It doesn’t matter whether that hobby is music, golf, photography or whatever, unless they specifically ask a question to which you have purposefully withheld information, or been ignorant in your declaration to the point it would not be considered reasonable in law, then it’s their problem not yours. It’s only an undeclared fact if they ask for it and you fail to declare, it’s not undeclared if it wasn’t asked for in the first place. Whilst I agree the insurers will avoid paying out if they can this can only be done within the framework of the law, they cannot illegally and if they do there are systems of recourse and heavy penalties for them if found at fault.
