I am trying to dredge my memory but failing, I know there are two and four Pole variations but I think there are two ways you can wire the four pole ones. Hopefully someone with a better memory or more knowledge will be along soon.

I could be remembering this wrong but aren't there two different ways of wiring them up?

Just looked at tickets and it's a day before the feeder gig I have tickets for, then the next local one is when I am away, will have a think how to get around that........

One of my favourite bands. I saw them loads back in the days of Caucasian psychosis. I am still debating the acoustic tour, I like the full on experience so wondered what it would be like. Sounds like it's worth a go.

Another vote for beta, my set are over ten years old now and see a lot of use on all sorts of things and they are still good. As said above, makes like draper are not reliable anymore and it's worth paying a few quid more usually.

I have been playing a year now and know exactly what I like (medium gauge, nickel rounds) but I have tried a good few to get that knowledge and the difference was massive in some cases. What I would suggest is going to a decent music shop with a shed load of second hand basses. Have a play with as many widths of neck and types of strings as you can as the odds are you will find something that just feels better to you.

I love my windows phone (I know I am in a minority of one) but if you like apps it's almost useless. Basic stuff is good but for anything else the iPad comes out.

27 years, which isntbthat long but is a bit odd as I have been playing a year. I bought it age 18 to learn but messed about with it for an hour or two and gave up. It then followed me around for the next few years through uni- many houses, several countries and then ended up in a cupboard where it stayed for nearly twenty years. It's now hanging in the garage as it's utterly terrible (probably homemade - badly).

[/quote] It's the final stages of testing so presumably they are deemed safe enough for the driver to test it but I still wouldn't want to do it. If anyone ever gets a chance to go it's well worth a visit. I went a few times with a project and it was always interesting to see what was happening. Sometimes it would be something like that, others they would be doing 500laps through the salt bath to simulate winter corrosion conditions which must have been as boring as hell.

I think it looks great, but then I,put one almost exactly the same shade on my blue Precision so I may be biased.

[/quote] Just got one yesterday oddly enough. I spent a very entertaining evening adding large lumps of chorus to a range of songs, some appropriately and some really not. I love it stacked with distortion but just can't dial in my distortion pedal how I want it to sound.

[/quote] I have had the pleasure of seeing the testing ground at MIRA in action, the test the drivers hate most is the kerb test where they drive at a kerb which is about 9" high at around 50mph (I think, could be anywhere from 40-60mph) and 45degrees to the direction of travel. It's a properly brutal test.

Finally got a response from TC, as expected there is no way to find out what's currently on a pedal. It's a shame as the TonePrint is great but could be so much better with just a few tweaks.

I guess it also depends what you are looking for. Our band plays about every 4-6 weeks. That suits me well, the lead guitarist is gigging every weekend with two other bands. We are doing it for the love of it and are all too busy to domtwo every weekend. It wouldn't suit a professional such as yourself Blue as it will never make much money but works for us. As long as the ads/ conversations are honest I don't see a problem. I can see a point to a band that plays for its own enjoyment but it's not for me. I like rehearsal but they are a means to an end and the end is gigs.

Music evolves, the instruments that were popular hundreds of years ago have had varying degrees of longevity. Sometimes due to changes in taste/ fashion and sometimes by being superseded. The key to the survival of any instrument is linked to those two factors. However, even if they are generally out of fashion or superseded they will still be used by a core of enthusiasts of niche groups. So the Bass guitar is likely to survive in some form or other for a long time, it's popularity and mainstream appeal will be determined by factors in the future that are very hard if not impossible to predict.

All my dealings with Marshall have been very positive. Nice to know there are companies out there who still value good customer service.
