  1. I do like the look of them. They are medium scale instruments, I think.
  2. Haha - I've had it for years and will keep it for many more.
  3. There's a real 4004 Cheyenne on ebay at the moment.
  4. I am currently sitting on an Aeron.
  5. When I made my Tele from parts, I plugged it in and played the riff to Communication Breakdown; it was one of those "Oh yes, I get it!" moments.
  6. Yesh, Shpectre, of coursh...
  7. Is that a factory finish on the Thunder?
  8. Thanks (It's step down from 12V to USB I want.)
  9. The top horn looks like it's off a different bass.
  10. I'm 2/3 of the way through my current GAS list: I bought a Rickenbacker 5-string last month. I bought a Kramer aluminium necked bass yesterday. I would like a Status Graphite headless 5-string.
  11. I've got a pedalboard and I've used all of the 9V sockets on my power supply but have a couple of spare 12V DC ones. Are there any 12V DC to 9V DC converters about so I could use those power outputs? I've also got a USB powered component - are there any 9V or 12V to USB converters about? Also a supplementary question... are they good, stable, reliable?
  12. I think Bullets must be cheaper, based on the quality.
  13. The latest bass to visit my sofa - I'll look at doing a family photo later.
  14. I always wondered what he did after his TV series finished.
  15. I was wondering if the series cap was in circuit, which makes the treble pickup thinner and cuts some volume. I like having the switch, because it gets a sound.
  16. Real Ric pickups work well together - it must need some adjusting. Has it got a push-pull tone pot?
  17. I've also got a doubleneck I put Retrovibe Ric-style pickups on. Again, it's a 22-fretter, though, but the pickup is right at the neck. I was really lucky with that one - it had "EMG" (yeah, right!) pickups and the Ric ones fitted straight in, even the same screw holes. Again I need to have a proper listen, but the bass does clatter like a Ric should.
  18. Actually, the pickups are more in the J position, so it's possibly going to do a 4000 on just the "neck" one. I do need to have a proper try-out, though. Incidentally, the Vol knob is push-pull and switches off the bridge pickup, and the Tone one switches in the series cap on the bridge pickup. (They are real Ric pickups too!)
  19. You need to get the TRC sorted out on that!
  20. Thanks for that info re. scale length! (Yes, I didn't mention the doublenecks...) 🙂
