  1. This one is a keeper (parts)...
  2. I do like this one. It's got a bolt-on neck!
  3. Here y'go... Sorry - I mis-read; thought it said beat-looking P bass!
  4. I'm just calculating the optimal angle and it'll be there! I've also got to fix those darned un-fanned machines...
  5. Yep Highway One was my immediate thought. It'd look better with fanned tuners, wouldn't you say? My recent purchase of a MIM for £100 was a better buy, though.
  6. Yep - we don't even know if it is a Tokai, other than the word of a counterfeiter. Also, the fact that it has been defaced means that the description of "mint" is a lie.
  7. I'm trying to eschew the urge to buy one...
  8. The scratches could be because it's been in a parts box, but it must've been used as a base for drilling or something to get those marks. An alternative could be if it's been used to prop up a table leg with an adjustable height screw thing, or maybe a vise or other clamp... (But a vintage Fender neck plate isn't the first thing I'd reach for to do that...)
  9. The Fender logo makes it a counterfeit and the string tree on the headstock looks cheap.
  10. Maybe he's not even allowed to be mentioned there!
  11. I'm not a mod, but I thought things about he who shall not be mentioned were not allowed to be mentioned...
  12. I'm now inspired to try out my (non-existent) woodworking skills and make a new creation!
  13. I recently bought a beat-up Fender Precision MIM and it is a decent bass. I've also got one I made from parts, including a MIM neck, Badass bridge, a drop-D tuner and Fender USA pickups - it is really good. And then there's my Frankenstein P. I've no hankering for any more Precisions, because I'm happy with those (and I never intended to get any to start with!), but if I were I'd be looking at either: Sandberg; I had a go on a couple of theirs at the Brum show and they were rather good. The Geezer Butler pickups - he endorses Lakland (though I'm not struck on the look of their rounded bridges).
  14. Well, they are doing some tax breaks for small businesses, aimed at catering/ents... As far as the law goes, it's an emergency measure for the greater good, though it's sad that some decent folks get to lose out...
