The current update is that someone I am talking to has been told by someone who knows the man well has seen a proof of posting to an address in Reading with my name on it. But he won't let him see it and he won't give the info to me...

Check the photo on the article and on his FB page. He's also confirmed to me that it was him but says that he took the fall for a sick friend. I didn't believe that, but I'm now chatting with someone who knows someone close to him who has confirmed that is known to them. They are now discussing how to get a resolution.

I've just been chatting with someone on FB who says he knows someone who has worked with him quite a lot and he's very surprised to hear of the issues and background.

It gives the lawyer, which was a possible avenue to pursue.

Amusingly (or not), he's apparently started posting details on Facebook of a convicted paedophile in Wales and saying it's me. (It isn't, of course!) Update 22/12: I have proof of that, BTW. However, some good came of it because someone who thought it was true and gave me a bit of lambasting (and who I proved to that it was not me) turned out to be a mediator and facilitated my refund.

I've posted facts, to the point of cutting & pasting actual content. For an item to be defamation/slander/libel it has to be untrue; truth is an absolute defence against such charges.

Looks like online harassment is one to add to the list; posting comments on my FB page and sending me messages. And all because he wanted to rip me of for £100. He could have earned that honestly in the time he's putting into this.

It's just reporting the post, rather than the overall issue. Actually, that option isn't there.

He threatened to sue me for slander, so I asked him to point out anything I’ve said which isn’t true. All for ripping me off for £100. He’s said he wants to meet to pay me back, but I’ve responded that I’ve already given him two means of repayment that he’s requested, so why should I believe this time.

Yep - he said his daughter sent them. He didn't pay the refund last night, so I'm putting the timeline together and will be progressing it today.

He said he posted it, but it didn't arrive, so I agreed that he could try posting it again; after several days with no confirmation of posting I asked for the refund, which he agreed to. He said it had been returned to him and gave me a screendump of the delivery proof; on looking at the tracking number (PN518894078GB), the track & trace info only shows it being in the Midlands (I'm in Berkshire). He's now threatened me with legal action for slander and I've responded that if he points out anything I have written which is untrue, I will be happy to withdraw or correct it.

The seller has apparently seen this thread and is now claiming that delivery of the goods was attempted, but they won’t give me the proof of that, so I don’t know. ive asked them to point out precisely what is untrue in what I’ve posted and I will happily retract/correct it. meanwhile, they’ve still got my money.
